It's raining pretty fierce right now, and my books are in the back of my car, and the sides are off. Great.

It's a 60% chance of rain. It's gonna be sloppy.

Well the weather reports i've been looking at say 60% for every day the rest of the week. I guess it's still up in the air as to when or where Ernesto will hit.

JC what stinks is that you and I both have to drive in that weather. Medic too for that matter. I know I am not gonna take Rt 360 where I rolled my SUV. I will take Interstate 64 to 29 South this time.

I was thinking about taking 360, but with the rain it may be better to take the highway.

Folks, calm down ... Ernesto will not be a factor unless it drinks 12 Red Bulls and speeds up real quick. Forecasted to be over Raleigh at 8 a.m. Friday:

Chris, let's all hope so, but you never know with these systems. Let's just keep our eye out for it for the next day or so until we really have an idea as to where it will be.

I admire your use of technology here, but I have to remind you that a hurricane or tropical storm is not a little point on the map. Areas hundreds of miles in advace of the center of the storm will feel the affects before the storm 'gets there.'

I would like to see Ernesto drink those red bulls though. That would be interesting.

What will be even more weird than the rain is the temperature. It was 95 today and the high on Thursday is only 70. That's gonna feel cold.

I think we'll be more worried about Friday night football getting knocked out around here than Thursday night. I'm a hurricane nut, so that's my gut feeling.

i'm obviously a fan of this particular storm and i can say you never know what the heck they are going to do. that's the beauty of hurricanes. anyone predicting where it will be at gametime before tomorrow evening is really going out on a limb.

That gif looks like it's updating itself. Very cool. Seems like the track has sped up a bit. I'm curious to see how wide the storm will be by the time it hits land.

The rain bands are north and east of the center. I predict a swamp of sand and black rubber.

We do assume that as soon as the sand and rubber are down, the field can be played on in any weather conditions, right? Not trying to rain on the parade, so to speak, but just wondering if the sand/rubber swamp prediction could be a reality.

I think if the rain is coming down too hard by the time I leave, I may not be making that trip to Lynchburg. I am not ready to drive through a rain storm right now. I will have to listen to Dr. Jerry Edwards online I guess if that were to happen. I really want to see the new field though. The pictures look fantastic. It is only gonna be 70 degrees? Wow that will feel cold when you are used to 95 everyday like we have in VA.

its only suppose to be like 65 mph when it hits florida, and i would say it would weaken and get smaller as it moves north, that is normally what happens, i think besides a shower here and there on thursday we'll be ok....that is coming from a Floridian, so I must be an expert, haha, jk.....

The new flags will be easily seen flying in a nice tropical breeze. :)

if it really rains all day the next two days like i heard from somewhere its supposed to, is that going to hinder work on whatever is left on the field/ops center/etc?

That could be a good thing. Find all the leaks before occupancy.

Wish they would have done that over here in the new East Campus dorms. Several leaks, already.
