Ummmm, we're not a very well prepared, managed, or disciplined football team.

Nothing else to say.

I think Streeter comes up with some really creative plays. It seems like a couple of times per game I am just thinking, wow that was really clever. But in the duel of him vs the opposing DC, he seems to get beaten quite a bit. I just don't think he game plans very well. And apparently this game he made no adjustments to match Lehigh's halftime changes. Add that to the general boneheadedness of a lot of the players on this team, and we are just constantly shooting ourselves in the foot. There is just too much talent on this team to be 1-3.

What is there to hate? It's where were at right now. We cant run the ball, we cant finish drives, and we make too many mistakes.

There used to be a time where we would move defensive lines very well. What happened?

The 2011 Liberty poster ought to say "Meet the Mets!"

This.

I think we're prepared. We moved the ball and made stops. I just think we make dumb choices on the field (i.e. the penalties) and our play calling is questionable at times.

I don't question anything we do Sunday through Friday. It's just things on Saturday that kill us every big game.

I love Mike Brown, and think he's a great player, but this is two games this year where we've been going down the field in the 4th quarter in huge drives and he's turned the ball over. We can't have that from a senior All-American.

Is it that we can't run, or we DON'T run? Things looked good at times, but then they went with the ol' "Hey, Mike! Why don't you just keep the ball" play.

what happened to the slant game that was effective with hayes against JMU? seems like we always end up in 3rd and long and have to make a big play. if we could pick up 5-7 yards on 1st or 2nd down with quick slants we would move the ball better.

and am I the only one that misses the freshman mike brown? he was exciting and a game changer, but he wasn't in a position to make all the mistakes that have clearly cost us this season.

what would happen if all of mike's carries went to allen and all of his throws went to brennen (who is apparently an able QB)? would we be that much worse off, esp. with brown lined up in the slot or in the backfield?

after a while those mental mistakes have to stop Jon

I am sick of this pattern, this coaching staff and the lack of discipline.

I have been a LU fan/supporter, since 73. It is not for the faint of heart, ALWAYS close but no cigar in big games. We just don't know how to win in any sport when the chips are down. I think DR is a good coach and should stay, but we have only won 1 game we shouldn't have won since he has been here (Ball State). We have lost 4-6 we should have won. (Not counting JMU or Lehigh, WM, they were toss up games and we lost them all with close scores). Gotta learn to take the next step.

I'm not sticking up for anyone with that statement. I was just talking about the preparation. Our preparation is good but our game day management and performance isn't. Probably could've worded it better the first time.

I HATE the play calling in the red zone! We're running the ball with Mike Brown too much. There is talent on this football team that we're not fully utilizing. It is so frustrating watching this team kill themselves with stupid penalties and mistakes.

-we cant' cover kicks
-we can't run the ball
-we call stupid MB runs that get him injured and the defense licks their chops at
-we committ an inordinate amount of backbreaking penalties
-I'm sorry to say to this as i have been a defender of his, but you can't trust MB with the ball in his hands when the game is on the line, he has made multiple costly turnovers in all 3 losses.

I dont want to hear anymore excuses from Rocco, he's had the time, the resources, the autonomy (reinstating Chapman, taking 2nd chances like Walt and V Redd) and he can't get it done. TTL is looking like he may have been on time with the "Rocco has taken us far as he can" bandwagon.

That statement is only true for sports that end in the word "ball" and are played by dudes.

I can't buy this one yet. If we change some of our assistants around and are still in the same boat then I will buy it. I'm a big believer in the concept of changing assistants before changing the head guy.

Why do we not take of our superior team speed more? Brown up the middle takes speed completely out of the equation. Short dumps to the RB's in the backfield with no blocking? Defense playing 10 yards off receivers on 3 and 9?

But that's on the head coach!!! Get your staff in order. Clearly Rocco is perfectly fine with what he has. That's the issue.

Most head coaches aren't going to make those changes when they don't have to. They shake things up and move coaches around first (which we've done). Changing coaches completely generally doesn't happen until the AD steps in and tells them to make a move or they're next. If you need a recent example look at Coastal two years ago.

Or a head coach forced to. Unless there's an absolutely horrendous season (for use that would be 4-5 losses) a head coach doesn't feel the pressure or the need to do that. It's just the nature of coaching.

i guess my question is how much rope does he get, i mean to me he's getting darn close to the end of the rope to me. I just dont know what signs of progression we've shown. Really, we are the same team we were 4 years ago, we could win the big south but couldn't beat any big boys
