I doubt Olldflame can organize it from his DR retirement oasis. HMO, we're asking for some help.
:pray

HMO's a big whig at LU now, I don't think he has time for us common-folk

HMO's always been a big whig: HMO just needs Super to tell him that it can't be done (again).

I mean do you REALLY want to spend all that time on the road with people from THIS BOARD!?!?! For starters, what would we listen to on the radio? :D

A bus trip to New York is a great way to meet friends. And we usually eat at a rest stop in NJ. :)

The HMO signal was flashed in the sky and I was told about this thread.

Sorry I've been MIA....I'm starting to realize what the 12 hour day in the office feels like :D

Is there serious demand for this game? Personally, I'd suggest holding off on the 24 hour trip and wait for the playoffs and we'll make something happen...

But, if this is the game we can pack a bus out then who are we to tell you that you cant!

(This makes me regret not buying that party bus I came across a few years ago for $6k...probably would have broken down half way there though...details details.)

'Party Bus'? With this group? Ha
And judging by the weight of everyone on this board, we wouldn't need too many people to fill up the bus!

Myself and 6 other guys on my hall would be interested in this. Plus my GF. Please let me know if there is anything I can help do to make this a reality. I was planning on driving up even without a bus trip (if the game matters which it looks like it will).

If this can be done count me in. I am certain we can get several members of Mike Brown's family to join us like two years ago.

count me in for a one way ticket. I have family on long island and would probably stay there overnight.

Count me in. We probably have a least half a dozen from our tailgate who would like to go.

OK -- THIS would be an awesome T-shirt. Bright red, Occupy Stony Brook in bug block letters on the front, with "Liberty vs. Stony Brook 2011" on the back.

We've already bought plane tickets. If we can get a refund then count 4 of us in.

BUMP

A very reliable source has confirmed that the Mike Brown family is organizing a chartered bus trip to Stony Brook. Right now, without any major donor funding, the price is $125 for a combination football ticket and bus ticket.

A $50 deposit will be due the middle of next week. The plan is to leave late Friday night, drive through the night, and arrive at Stony Brook in time for Saturday's game. Once the game is over, we pack in the bus, head to Lynchburg, arriving sometime Sunday morning.

Once more details are finalized, I'll post them here. Anyone on FF interested in making the trip to Long Island for $125?

When we organized the trip to SB in 09, our actual cost per person ended up being a lot less than $125, but of course, that was subsidized. You have to keep in mind that when a trip is underwritten by a doner and you offer a deep discounted price, you tend to fill the bus, and that drops your cost pp. Transportation costs have also gone up in the last 2 years due to the price of fuel and other factors. I wouldn't call $125 a bargain, but it's not out of line under these circumstances.
