In Game Music

I love the idea of them playing classic songs that the entire crowd knows so they can sing along but I wonder if they can play it earlier in the timeouts or during longer breaks so they can get to the part everyone knows. Yesterday they played "Dont Stop Believing" but it started half way through so it never made it to the actual meat of the song....same thing for "Here I go again on my own." It's like this great buildup but never made it to the part everyone was waiting on.
It was amazing last week when the entire student body was singing "Dont stop believing."

hearing guns n roses, bon jovi, and whitesnake, reminds me of how much trouble i would have got in for listening to this type of music in the dorm, but i love that they are playing it!

For one thing HMO, they tried to play don't stop believing during a TV timeout. So that's why it got cut off so soon.
Overall, the music is a ton better. But....
STILL NO CUPID SHUFFLE!!!

I remember a time when someone stormed the sound booth b/c they were playing Motown songs and security had to be called! So don't get me started....
Agreed they should edit the songs to take some of the instrumental parts out. Couldn't believe the youngns knew the words to Dont Stop Believing. Heck made me feel like I was back in high school watching a football game! Except didn't make out under the bleachers last nite!

That Wolfmother song couldn't have been played at a more perfect time last night. It was during that final JMU drive during a time out. As soon as it started, I thought to myself, "this is perfect". And then I couldn't hear it because of the crowd.
just looked it up. The Joker and the Thief.

Don't get me wrong, I love my hair band music. I used to be DJing it INTO the dorms back when they were popular in the '80s. But I have to admit I cringe with the opening lyrics to "Don't Stop Believing". Do we really need 8k kids singing about the oldest profession? It just seems a very odd choice of songs to have everyone crooning. There are plenty of other Journey/Night Ranger/Foreigner/.38 Special songs that are less cringe-inducing. Yeah, I know this makes me sound like an Old Hag and nobody pays attention to the lyrics. It just sits wrong with me.
I have to admit I never saw the day coming when Whitesnake & GNR would be fixtures anywhere publicly on campus.

I can guarantee that 90% of the student body doesn't even know the meaning of the first verse of don't stop believing or have ever stopped to actually think about it.

They have to pay for school somehow!
People make too much about music. If it gets the crowd pumped and they aren't dropping profanity left and right play it all nite loud. Which makes me think 'I Love it Loud ' from KISS. I mean they are Jewish and Gene Simmons finally got married so fire it up. The opening is awesome!

Sly, I am not an old hag and I was also upset with the music last night. It was downright pathetic. You could not convince me that Liberty was a Christian university through the music that was played during the game. As a Christian university, Liberty should be set apart (Romans 12:1-2). The students that I attended the game with were also shocked and disappointed in the music selection. The lyrics to the songs were inappropriate for both children and adults in attendance.
