Bring your frustration here. And there is plenty to be frustrated about tonight.

This team is a joke. I can't believe I got my hopes up. It's the same old team. Can't compete on a high level. Period.

Were terrible. Stalled in the redzone twice to start, then miss both field goals. Our defense somehow forgot all the fundamentals tonight, particularly how to tackle. Mike had a few good plays but tried to force to much and needs to quit staring down the receivers. Our mistakes cost us the game. We make one of those fields goals in the first quarter, mike doesnt throw that freaking interception, 66 doesnt hit the guy in the face. I hate the fact that now we get another year of being the laughing stock of FCS

entertaining game guys. You got some good stops, moved the ball well. Your crowd was very impressive. Best of luck rest of the way!

Blocking, tackling, and penalties - the basics. They did really seem stronger - showed up on their push off the ball and our missed tackles.

We lost this game between the ears. Too many penalties, and most of those cost us big gains and killer field position.
Our defense didn't come to play at all -- this is not the same defensive squad that we saw at NC State. Madison's offense isn't better than NC State's, but we sure made them look that way.

We're going to have a hard time finding positives in this one. It seems we choose JMU to put up a stinker every season (Yeah, I know TTL). The undisciplined nature of the loss is what makes it so maddening.

I'm so pi$$ed about this game right now. I'll leave it at that for now. I'm freaking sick of losing every big game. In every sport.

It is good we are not counting on an at-large bid for the playoffs. That was a very disappointing game. Our crowd was awesome. I hope the team will learn from this. J.M. seemed to be much better prepared than we were.

Pathetic effort from the D tonight, the tackling was atrocious.
The lack of run game is killing us. Only 8 carries for Allen and SirChauncey? That's pathetic. It's no wonder we can't score in the redzone when everything is a Mike Brown keep from shotgun. If you don't trust your backs, say so--don't say we need to get it going and then refuse to hand off the ball. Streeter is getting a little too pass happy for my liking.
However, he called an excellent game from the 20 to 20. However, the redzone calls had me scratching my head all night.
Our coaches have to stop hyping these games up. Our guys were so psyched they forgot how to play football. Too many dumb penalties and bonehead plays for me.
Now we have to go on the road and play a tough Lehigh team? Yuck.

But...as bad as we were tonight, and we were bad, we were still in a position to win. Minus the most poorly timed holding penalties you could possibly have.

I watched the game with my family in NC via live streaming. First, it appears that Bevins hurt himself on his first missed kick, but tried to tough it out for the second missed kick. Hindsight is 20/20, but I certainly wished he had told the staff that he was injured prior to his second attempt.
I certainly don't think our defense played terrible; not at the level of the NC State game, but still solid. The JMU players seemed to be far more elusive, particularly Scott. He certainly came to play.
Now, our offensive line sucked big time. Our receiving corp did great, and I thought Mike Brown had a solid game. There were some awful penalties against the O-Line that cost us crucial field position. The referees didn't help us out, either. That clipping call was a joke. It is a disappointing loss, but we played a solid football team in JMU.
Some of our issues may be coaching (that can be another discussion), but our biggest issue remains player execution on the field.

I'll try something different and be the ray of sunshine here...
(bear in mind I didnt see the first half)
1. the penalties were inexcusable, esp the unsportsmanlike(s) ... DR will correct that and I guarantee you won't see that happen again all season. PRINT IT.
2. Passing game was exciting and nearly unstoppable. Bearing in mind this was the #13 team in the nation- VERY HAPPY. We could use some work on the rush... but again, this was no BSOUTH defense. AA looked good.
3. Defense- not awful in the second half. Could we tackle better. YUP. Did we play stupid at times. YUP. Did our DB's blow some picks and/or coverages? YUP. #13 team in the nation. CAA team.
progress fellas. We need to play better, more consistently, but progress. I remember a game 6 years ago where UConn shut us out- I believe 59-zip. You know, like Coastal today. And like Presby. And Gardner-Webb.
On to Lehigh, where I guarantee we make a statement.

I just got back from the game...it really was about missed opportunities on offense tonight. If we cash in something on those 3 possessions where we came away with no points, this is a different game. I think my theory held true tonight as well...LU didnt get off to a fast start and we gave JMU a chance to play us even in the first 10 possessions. I said that if it was a low scoring/close game, itd favor the Dukes...thats what we got, then when the offense picked up, JMU had the confidence (and the passing game) to make the right plays when they needed to be made.
BYD I have to disagree with you though...you want to jump ship, I'll find a life boat for you and jbock.

Nobody is calling tonight a moral victory. But Medic's points are valid that the picture is not as gloomy as some in here are suggesting. Yeah, there is no question we played our way out of a victory tonight. But we also battled back in the second half and our offense finally started acting like we knew what were doing.
The sooner we put this thing to bed the better for me. But I never saw us losing on Matt's leg and undisciplined penalties.

I was really impressed with the Flames tonight. I truly don't think we'll see a better QB than Brown on our remaining schedule.
You guys deserved a better outcome. Missed field goals and penalties really hurt you guys in the first half...no way we win if the first half was the shootout the second half was.
I sure hope we don't see you guys again in the playoffs, if we should be fortunate enough to make it with you.

I think there is a different level of FCS football and we are not on it. I always kind of thought, we could compete with the best teams but JMU seems down and their QB is awful and we still couldn't beat them at home. I guess we can still shoot for the playoffs obviously with an autobid, but that's about as good as we can do. This game was a huge reality check in my opinion.

Don't think anyone is jumping ship, I could me wrong. I was say they are frusrated but I think frustration was last year and the year before that..... Yeah Coastal got beat bad today but I think they have been to the playoffs twice and beaten JMU recently. With that said, like someone mentioned as bad as we played and we were still in it until the last second that is minus Asa, Bevins, Pat Kelly and a injured BJ Hayes.
