What would Coach Bennett call the new JMU Duke Dog?

Fans over on the JMU board are less than enthusiastic about the new Duke Dog mascot unveiled over the weekend ...
Some have even suggested that it looks more like a cat than a dog. Cue CDB:

What did the old one look like? I like it when Mascots look goofy. But that one just looks kind of sad.

maybe it would help if the guy (or girl I suppose) didn't just walk around with his arms to their side while dressed like a mascot

Yea, because that picture tells you exactly how the mascot walked around all game.

Really? wow. I thought he just looked like that in the picture, but if you say he did that the whole game, get a new mascot

And after a massive fan revolt, JMU announced on FB tonight that the new Duke Dog will not be back for another go around....it appears he's taken a one way trip to "the farm."

No, I think there was such a backlash they're scrapping the whole thing and bringing the old one back for good. I would guess their only expense was the head, maybe a new suit, not sure. Perhaps they can donate it to a Hanna Barberra reunion group...
