This feels like a monkey on the back kind of game. I'm not saying they're not good, but this is exactly the kind of team we can beat and need to beat but don't ever seem to.

BYD's right...and with JMU having trouble scoring (The Dukes have failed to score 20 or more points in 9 of their last 12 games against FCS competition) we need to get this game

The JMU fans are acting depressed. Since the game ended last night, no one on their board has predicted them winning. Some are even saying we will win big.

They have good reason to be upset.
We both played home games against NEC contenders last night. We whooped ours, they struggled to beat theirs.
I just hope we can score enough, because I feel like we'll be able to keep their offense bottled up pretty well.

This is what JMU has scored in each of their last 11 games. Someone on their board mentioned this. Notice a trend?
This plus the way we've been playing defense and we should keep them to 17 points or less. The question will be, will we score 17+?

HARRISONBURG — James Madison opened the renovated Bridgeforth Stadium on Saturday night with an ugly 14-9 nonconference victory over Central Connecticut State.
The 25,102 in attendance, the largest crowd to ever watch a JMU home game, saw the Dukes narrowly escape the Northeast Conference preseason favorites despite turning the ball over five times.

3 JMU football players reinstated, charges dropped

HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) — Three James Madison University football players have been reinstated after charges stemming from a fight were dismissed.
The Daily News-Record (http://bit.ly/n97Wp9 ) reports that Rockingham County Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Cristabel Opp filed a motion to dismiss the charges Thursday. Opp didn't give a reason for the decision.
A grand jury indicted 19-year-old Anthony Rose, 22-year-old Jonathan Rose and 21-year-old Peter Rose in February on malicious wounding charges, along with 22-year-old Jonathan Williams.
Williams was removed from the team in March. His trial is pending.
The Roses are brothers.
James Madison coach Mickey Matthews told the newspaper that the Roses were reinstated Thursday.

Anyone know our series history against JMU? They act like they're on a totally different level than Liberty, but I can remember back when neither team was really relevant. I think it was in '01 we played them in the last game of the year...both teams were terrible at the time...if I remember correctly, JMU won 14-7 in front of about 3,000 fans. LU had this really tall receiver and tried to throw the ball to him about three straight times near the end of the game but couldn't complete it.
In years before that, I believe we actually got a couple of wins against them. So it just seems like they've had a pretty good decade from 2000-2010...but we're starting to catch back up.
So back to my question, what is the series history with JMU...and if anyone could list the scores, that would be interesting as well.

JMU leads the overall series 11-5.
LU is 2-5 at home, and 3-6 on the road
1980- JMU 30-14
1981- JMU 36-14
1983- JMU 44-35
1984- JMU 52-43
1985- LU 9-3
1986- LU 17-7
1988- JMU 31-28
1989- LU- 19-14
1990- LU 22-19
1991- JMU 35-34
1992- LU 34-31
2000- JMU 38-7
2001- JMU 14-7
2003- JMU 48-6
2009- JMU 24-10
2010- JMU 10-3
JMU has been on a different level, but the gap has narrowed. If im not mistaken once they joined the CAA, they quit playing us til the series started back in 2009.

Central Connecticut was preseason pick to win conference and Robert Morris was tabbed for 3rd place.

19 years since we last beat JMU? Our freshmen weren't even alive in 1992.
We're DUE!

Which would be like CCU and LU last year in the Big South... so let's just say that's a pretty neck and neck situation...

I would give the edge to LU this year.
LU was able to score acouple times against NCS's "tough defense" and alot against RM, so even though they aren't rolling 100% yet, they should score several times against JMU.
JMU's offense looks to be struggling, our D is paying tough, so we should be able to hold them and give our offensive plenty of opportunities.
I am thinking LU 24 JMU 10

Will Liberty and JMU play each other beyond 2012? The current series was just a four year agreement through 2012, correct? Is there any hope of the series getting extended or will this be the next to last game for awhile? I personally have really enjoyed the first two games and am sure the next two will not be disappointments either.

I've driven past Bridgeforth on I-81 a couple times now and it's a palatial stadium! The place looks absolutely amazing and IMO Bridgeforth > Williams.

This is a great opportunity to develop community support for the program, a great in-state rivalry; would love to see it extended. Excited to play Richmond but hope we can find a way to maintain the JMU series.

It certainly looks nice...although gameday experience is more than just the stadium...but I certainly would say that JMU is the best looking stadium atm

I hope not.
No offense to him, but the man has much bigger issues in his life to straighten out
