Since the Lynchburg paper doesn't have it on its site, I'll post from another fishwrap ...

Former Monticello standout Mike Brown (10) has been a two-time Big South player of the Year for the Liberty Flames.

If Mike Brown were 6-foot-3, would he have fallen through the cracks of the recruiting process when he was a senior at Monticello High School in 2006? Would he have gone virtually unnoticed by the state’s two largest football-playing universities? Would Liberty, an FCS program just clawing its way back to respectability at the time, have had a shot at landing the dynamic athlete?

“The short answer?” Liberty coach Danny Rocco said. “No.”

Mike Brown as centerfielder sounds pretty good too.

I was out of town all weekend and was livid that our centerpiece story wasn't posted on our website. Ranted to the appropriate people. Hopefully something changes. Ridiculous.

The crazy thing is that it was posted on all your affiliate paper sites and not the place where it was intended. Great writing in that one, Chris.

Great article, Chris. When we look back in 5 years and we're talking about the best player in Liberty history, Mike will stand head and shoulders above everyone else, IMO. I hate that he's graduating this year.

I’m really hoping this kid makes it to the next level…I had read article and then a text and link to a friend of mine who has a “little juice” at a particular AFC East team and surprisingly he already knew about him and stated they are “sending a scout in to the school to check him out.” It’s impressive that he’s really on the NFL radar.

He'll at least be an undrafted free agent. No way someone doesn't at least take a look at him.

Depending on what he does this fall, Mike could be drafted. That's why his time as receiver in openfield this year is so important for his future.

Its not like our back up is a huge drop off. And with Pat's knee. It could get interesting.
