Warwick’s biggest football recruit hasn’t played there in some time. Yes, the Newport News school named after the boulevard on which it sits hasn’t seen any football recruit bigger than Michael Vick. The latest offer isn’t for a star quarterback at the school, but the college making the pitch is willing to settle for a wide receiver, defensive back, return man and track star all rolled into one.
Eric Poindexter (SR ATH 5-11 165) picked up his first college offer today. That thrilled his coach, Juan Jackson, and it got Poindexter pretty excited too.
“We received a letter from Towson about Eric and they let us know that they’d like to extend him an offer,” Coach Jackson said. “We gave Head Coach Rob Ambrose a call today, talked to him, and the coach confirmed the offer.”
