Lang's article about the first day of camp:
LU football seeking fifth straight Big South title
By: Chris Lang
Published: August 04, 2011
Liberty players began filtering into the Williams Football Operations Center on Wednesday morning, signaling the end of summer and the start of fall training camp. Practice opens this afternoon at Williams Stadium. The Flames have earned at least a share of four straight Big South titles, and with a host of skill players returning on offense, Liberty is an overwhelming favorite to make it five championships in a row in 2011.

Is anybody else surprised that medic was able to figure out a twitter app on his walky-talkie?
Hopefully we'll score some pics from this afternoon's practice. I think we are all dying for some football of any sort about now.

i saw the updated roster they posted...looks like Ayers is taking Claiborne's spot. Both him and Latiff are the only noticeable missing players. Partilla finally qualified!

Interesting they have Ayers playing safety considering he is a coming in as a true CB, while having Aikens play CB, who was a true safety at Illinois. Not questioning the decision making here at all, mainly because Ayers is unproven, but I do think it makes sense to switch them around... it also makes sense to have Aikens play anywhere in the defensive backfield... just my .02

Ryan Ayers went through spring practice at Georgia Tech, and he fully expected to have a shot at decent playing time in the Yellow Jackets’ defensive backfield this season.

Great info from Chris this morning on Ayers and Sparrow. And Fath has moved to TE so looks like Nick Sigmon is the man. And Baptiste is at FB now.

Medic is still growing? Must be having one of the mid-life growth spurts.

Didn't see Claiborne leaving. I wonder what that's all about.

I didn't notice that either ... I'll ask about him next time I'm out there. And pretty, as noted in the story, Ayers played safety all throughout high school. LU has a need there. Not so much at corner.

The depth on this team is unreal. The only question mark seems to be the O Line and there is definately some young talent there. I can't wait to see Lang Break that O Line down for us.

This certainly changes a lot of the possibilities in a couple of the position previews I had posted this summer...
