It'll probably be the same as it seems to be every year. LU, CCU, and Stony Brook will be the only serious contenders for the championship, while the rest of us try to avoid being swept.

I've opened this up to our Big South Brethren. Here's the first vote from
www.bluehosesports.com:
Black Watch wrote:Liberty (5-1) Homecoming (CCU) is their lone upset after being lulled to sleep at GWU
Stoney (4-2) CCU sets up the "hurt"(attrition) Losses next week to CSU (away) then falls to a HOT Liberty two weeks later.
Presby (4-2) AT SB after(Furman) and AT Liberty after (GaSthn) is tough to do. If you want to "go back" to the winning ways, you need someone who knows the history. (HN will win the Big South COY)
Coastal (4-2) On a high after beating Liberty, gets sloppy. In a "dirty" slugfest with SB, loses some key players. And the game. Presby takes advantage of the situation the next week.
CSU (3-3) Liberty (away) too much! Catches a hurt SB, but then is hammered by their rival (CCU), they end the season with loosing to a new rival (Presby)
VMI (1-5) Thank God they get to end with GWU in a retooling year. It is tough to be like a little brother to the service academies.
GWU (0-6) Too much to do to get this team working as one in such a short time (without cheating). They did bring in a lot of JUCOs, but it is hard to mesh so quick. Next year will be a different story.
WOW, that was really fun. BUT my crystal ball is really foggy because it won't even give me the right Lotto numbers (so we can get lights and stands).

And to CCU considering that the Chants were outscored 95-37 in their last two trips to the mountain AND the fact that LU hasnt lost a home conference game since 2006.

No, it's not defeatist. It's realistic. I don't like having to eat crow, so I generally prefer not to talk trash. We're getting better, that's for sure, but so is everyone else. Perhaps my last post was my current physical and mental fatigue talking. I'm excited for our team's potential, but the 2009 season's winless campaign and last year's 2-9 record have left an impact on me.

Last year Gardner-Webb and Liberty had wins over FBS opponents. Who's most likely to get wins over FBS foes in 2011?

Looking at the different teams...
Charleston Southern
@ UCF L
@ FSU L
Coastal Carolina
@ Georgia L
Gardner-Webb
@ Ohio Toss-Up
@ Wake Forest L
Liberty
@ NC State Toss-up
Presbyterian
@ Cal L
Stony Brook
@ UTEP L
@ Buffalo Toss-up
VMI
@ Akron L
Liberty, Stony Brook and GWU could all steal games from FBS teams as I see it. Gardner-Webb and Liberty beat MAC teams last year and with NC State breaking in a lot of new pieces they could steal the game in Raleigh.

Not to pick on you, but I would put VMI v. Akron in a toss-up. Rest I agree with.

Akron was 1-11 last year and really did not do well with recruiting this year. While VMI may not be good either, Akron is likened to a middle of the pack FCS team, IMHO.

VMI is a bottom of the bucket FCS team IMHO. Just saying

Let me just say my opinion is that VMI has a better chance at beating Akron than we do of beating NC State.

Do you all really believe LU/NC State is a toss up?? I don't think NC State will blow us out or anything, but a toss up?? seriously?
