Running Back - - Jocorey Robins (Churchland)

About Robins: Clearly, Robins is showing that he is a player to be reckoned with for the Truckers carrying the rock. At every event he's been to thus far this off-season, he's shined and that continued at the Best of the 757, possessing a pretty solid blend of power and speed. From a production standpoint, few have been better or as good the last two seasons as Robins has piled up over 1900 yards on the ground and 24 touchdowns. This tough Churchland runner will make somebody at the next level very glad they got him.

I like the speed (definitely can get to the outside), but the 170 does concern me a bit. a lot of your feature backs in college these days tend to trend toward the 200 lb range (some in the 215-220 range) so I think that wherever he ends up (here or elsewhere), he may have to pack on some pounds. If he can bulk up a bit and maintain those speed and power numbers, and keep up the stats that you have indicated 215, he could be a very good pickup for someone (especially a team that uses the spread like Churchland does)

There may some inaccuracies here but Tony Dorsett was @5'9" and @ 160lbs soaking wet as a senior in HS and ran for 42 TDS his senior year. He got bigger but not slower at Pitt each year. Speed is hard to coach - weight and strength come with physical maturity.

while i'm sure he's not going to stay at 170, running backs like Darren Sprole, Barry Sanders, and Chris Johnson had great careers in the NFL at weight between 180-190

your sarcasm is appreciated Jon. I just said that it concerned me. He could do well at his size at the college level (people have already mentioned backs who were seen as "small" who did quite well), if he only gets up to that 180-190 range he certainly could be a good "lightning" back in an offense.

The "feature" back is slowly disappearing in favor of the by-committee approach. The day of the 6'3, 230 lbs. is coming to an end. Can never have enough of these guys who can take it to the house on any given play.

And who can turn into great DBs if they don't work out at RB.

Recruit757.com wrote:“I have been camping all summer,” Jocorey said. “I was unable to attend a few camps due to scheduling conflicts.”

Robins’ non-stop camp schedule has garnered him strong interest from Liberty, JMU, Richmond and Elon, plus opportunities for further evaluation from Virginia Tech and NC State. After putting in a ton of hard work, an offer from Navy came in recently.

Question I have: Do athletes have to go through the nomination process for the service academies like everyone else?
