Crump, a wide receiver at Bartram Trail High School in Jacksonville, Fla., got an early offer from West Virginia, and he has since seen his total rise to six. Southern Mississippi, Wake Forest, Troy, FIU and Liberty have added their names to the list, and all are under consideration by the rangy wideout. The offer from WVU was a pleasant surprise for Crump.http://scouthoops.scout.com/2/1071548.html
“I was kind of surprised with the offer, because I hadn't talked to them a lot at that point,” said Crump. “They were the second school to offer me. I knew West Virginia is a good program, and I knew about them because I like the offense that they play and the way they run it.”
Crump hasn't visited the Mountaineer campus yet, but he is starting the process of setting up his camp visits for the summer, and said it was a “possibility” that he might include WVU in that list. Of course, there are also official visits that can be taken in the fall, so the summer would just be the first opportunity for Crump to get to West Virginia. He did say that he would most likely want to visit a school before adding it to his “high interest” list.
“It's still broad right now,” he said of his interest list. “I'm not eliminating anyone yet. I want to look at the school's reputation, and know about the people at the school, the coaches, and the players. Can I picture myself being there for four years if I weren't playing football? I want to know what the school and the whole campus are like.”
While Crump didn't have a timetable set for visits, he did say that he might make his decision prior to the beginning of his senior season. That was not set in stone, however, and it could change if he attracts more offers or decides he needs more time to learn about his alternatives.
