AQ's:

William and Mary
Montana State
Bethune Cookman
App State
Northern Iowa
Lehigh
Robert Morris
Coastal Carolina
Stephen F Austin
Jacksonville State

AL's:

Locks/Very Likely In:
EWU
Delaware
Villanova
New Hampshire
Western Illinois
Wofford
SEMO
GA Southern

That's 8

Then you need to pick 2 from:

NDSU, SCSU, FAMU, Liberty, ODU, Jacksonville, Dayton, CCSU, Duquense, Colgate

That's where we stand.

I'm biased, so I say NDSU and Liberty.

However, I can see it being NDSU and SCSU due to name recognition for SCSU from their good games against App on ESPN in recent years.

Also, plenty of chances for a "Maine" like team to make it in. Jacksonville or CCSU are possible candidates to surprise everyone.

I think LU and NDSU have the best resumes, but that's not always what gets you in. I can see it being NDSU and SCSU.

And I'd say a good amount of people on message boards feel it's down to LU, NDSU, and SCSU for the last two spots. Some pick LU, some concede that SCSU will likely get it based on name/recent history.

ok we are giving ndsu some credit but they were only above us by one in the rankings and they lost and we won

I hope I am wrong, I really do. I just don't think we will make it. We are in the Big South, the Big South will always be a one bid league. We all said that when the season began and now that its over and Coastal is getting the auto-bid we are trying to convince ourselves we can still make it. Its been this same story the past few years...I convince myself we have a good shot and we don't make it...I will no longer fall into that trap...

Its just much better for my emotional state to have this mind set

Yeah, I dunno how that'll go. They have an FBS win, but some questionable losses (moreso than ours, and that's saying something)

Plus they didn't finish well in a conference that, while it's good, isn't THAT good, and that might hold them back. We did finish tied for first in an AQ conference. That might hold some water, it might not.

The Big South is a 2-bid conference before the MEAC.

The MEAC is the LOWEST rated conference. Below even the Pioneer and SWAC.

The only win OOC for them was over 0-11 SWAC team Mississippi Valley State.

The Big South is far better than the MEAC.

again continuous let downs has caused me to be cynical of the whole process...

Something to consider...

using the GPI, which the committee "uses"...

We were 2 spots ahead of SCSU. They played number 120something NC AT, we played 60something SBU. Both teams won. We'll stay ahead of them and likely gain ground on the top 25, which we're a handful (okay, a few hands full) of spots behind.

I hope you are referring to the LU KK because Kyle could read this and have it fly right over his dome 10 times out of ten. we're are on our own this time around and hopefully even though JB won't be allowed in the room when they are discussing us the fact that would have to look him in the eye as they make their decisions has to be worth something.

The years before when we were on the bubble we had a bad loss, a real bad loss. presby being one of them. we don't have a bad loss this year

JMU is a loss to a non-playoff team. They're a good team, but you could call it a bad loss because they're a 6-5 team.

But do we have a good win? (Ball State IMO is not a 'good' win)

Here's the crazy thing: every team that tied for the championship got blown out by one of the others and blew out one of the others.

SBU blew the doors off of Coastal. CCU came back and got it respectable in the 2nd half.
CCU blew the doors off of Liberty. LU came back and got it respectable in the 2nd half.
LU blew the doors off of SBU.

It just came down to a matter of who blew out who by more.

Coastal was at home for both of their meetings with the other 2. Lucky bums.
