We need a positive thread.

I love the Liberty Flames football team.

I Support them even though we may not win the Big South.

I Support them even though we STILL may not make the playoffs.

I Support them in the 4:3 or the 3:4 and with or without the adjustor (which WAS a change by the way)

I support them when they win the majority of the time

I support them when they lose a small portion of the time. (yes even when we should win)

I am a supporter. Do I disagree sometimes, yes I do. But I am not a coach or an AD and I am not payed to be either.

I even support those of you who also support this team but yet are very upset. Tactics. not always.

Call me a blind homer.

I'm OK with that.

I love this team, and I fully believe that it will take time and patience to be a top tier program.

We WILL get there.

It will take ups and downs. It has for everyone else. Why should we be different?

Go Flames.

Agreed. There are a lot of programs who are not even close to being competitive. Progams that would probably take being disappointed at the end of the year which means that they were in a competitive situation leading up to it. Our program has ways to go, there's no doubting that. That was obvious when we lost Robert Morris in my opinion. I think there's also something to be said about just how competitive college football is. I've seen upsets the last few years in FBS that would have never went down even 10 years ago. You have to come and punch the other team in the mouth every week or your going to get punched. No team will lay down for you. If anything, i'm looking forward to seeing how this team will respond this saturday against SB. If the playoffs come into play afterwards then so be it. If it doesn't we will focus on next year and give it another shot. The fact that we have a shot year in and year out is a privilege to have as a fan. I sat in the bleachers 10 years ago while in college when they had no chance to compete for anything at the end of the year. And the stadium was practically empty and you didn't really see any direction. I hope this will be encouraging for some as i know this past weekend was disappointing. But, we still our a good and growing football program. And as our program and facilities continue to improve, so will our recruiting base. I don't even think we have benefited fully yet in having this new addition added to the Bill. Things are still looking up flamefans!

Exactly. I sat through the lean years as many of you did. I appreciate the success of the past several years. If LU Football was a stock, I'd still be very happy with the ROI. Everyone has a few blips in the radar, but the program will continue to climb under JB and DR.

IF changes need to be made, then I have no doubt Rocco will make them. I am not sold that a scheme change is neeted. A few minor personnell tweeks may be all that is needed. The coaches will get it right. Whether some want to admit it or not, we are still in the program building mode. We have not quite "made it" yet.

I agree with all of those things. We may have different opinions but it doesn't change the fact that I will first and foremost be a Liberty fan.

i dont think any of the people who are questioning Rocco have given up as fans of liberty. to say otherwise is delusional.

seriously what did happen to it? I guess that cat was not supposed to be out of the bag? I guess the athletic department can never accuse us of not being friendly.

I agree. It would be one thing if this was an official message board run by the school, but this is just weak.

They can accuse us of being retarded, ignorant, stupid fans.

Well, they are right.

I think we need to be just a bit more circumspect than some fan boards because of the big stick that the school still holds of blocking the site on campus. Plenty of free speech going on here in the last couple of days for sure, but clearly the team wanted this to be a surprise. Also, there may be an issue of saving some grief for the players who actually let the cat out of the bag via twitter.

You mean the thread where it talked about LU wearing BLACK uniforms this saturday? We are going to censor that? Heck, now you just made it the most talked about thing on this thread, lol.
Instead of censorship how about shifting gears and saying "well now that that is out what can we do to enhance the experience?"

Maybe ask the fans to wear all black too? Hold a moment of silence and announce a day of mourning for our playoff chances? [ok, maybe that last suggestion went too far, Ha! :-) ]

But seriously, the cat is out of the bag. Work with it! Censoring it just makes us look stupid!

For the record, I pulled down the thread. The subject had been thoroughly discussed and was common knowledge among our fanbase. But there was some hope that perhaps word had not filtered back to Long Island and that it could be a bit of a surprise. I made the call and I'll take the criticism that goes with the decision.

But come on, have I censored the critical comments about the staff this week? I hardly think anyone could accuse the board of not allowing free speech.

I feel bad for you because you had to read all of the crap people wrote on here this week. I've tried to avoid this place for the past few days because it was getting me depressed.
