A win is a win is a win, but ugh... what couldve been.

defense looked pretty good but we definitely should have scored more.

I would be interested to hear Coach's take: my guess is it centers around "efficiency" of the offense (ie: Mike Brown & decision making)

Saw a bit more of #12 today and was pretty happy- he is very capable and we wont see a great deal of dropoff in the passing game for sure.

He scrambles pretty well too, though obviously is no Mike Brown.

Gagliardi looked good again today tho limited in touches. Did have one drop, but blocked well.

Davis looked as good as I've seen him. Other than the GOAL LINE FUMBLE

Chauncy... meh.... average at best.

Pat Kelly had a nice game and really played tough.

Mike looked like Mike. Good, bad & everywhere in between. LEFTY hit the nail on the head when he called him "Mike McNabb"

Special teams didn't look too awful (other than the fumbled punt return which we actually had hit our guy in the BACK)

O looked alright- just streaky/sloppy

D looked decent. Only a couple lapses.

overall I'm gonna soften a bit and call this effort a "B"

Sounds about right.

That defense could beat SBU or Coastal. Not sure about the offense.

CRAP:

in all my handwringing/angst over the win- I forget about BEVINS

he was pretty much perfect (4/4 FGs)

hit everything he was asked to kick and sent most k/o deep- several for touchbacks (w/ the wind, but still...)

Good job Matt: A+ for you

If Bevins isn't STPOTY it's a joke. 4 Touchbacks, 4 FG's. That's the best day a kicker can have.

They might give it to "Liberty Special Teams" tho, for Bevins, Larsson, and Broggin as well.

I'd be fine with that, and as poorly as our special teams played earlier in the year I think it would be great.

Thanks to the second half touchdown we pretty much handed to them when SirChauncy fumbled, we arer now tied with Stony Brook in the points-allowed tiebreaker.

I finally just got home.

1. It wasn't exactly pretty, but a good win with some great positives nonetheless.

2. That play where we bent GWs starting QBs back backwards was nasty

3. Broggin is so fast in the open field it is crazy

4. Summers is just not fair. That first catch was just stunning.

5. Chauncey gave us a few runs that look like he is turning into a real great back.

6. Bevins has definately found his Swagger. His is sooo confident and clean. The kick offs were amazing

7. Larson punted soo great.

8. The student stampede after halftime was an embarassment. I just can't believe it esp. after Barber's pep talk in convo. However, both Town and student side was disappointing in their lack of sticking around.

9. The Iwo Jima tribute was cool.

10. The offense has to find a better flow.

11. I briefly met ELCID with his Nikon. He was a nice guy. He was not happy about the call on his son's (44 RB) "fumble". He thought (and I may have too) that he was down before the ball came out. Can't wait to see his pics.

Missed the entire second half but based on the numbers I have a tough time bellyaching much when we collect decisive victories even when we play subpar.

We accomplished our mission for the week of collecting the 'W' and avoiding major injuries (anybody lose your breath when Chris when down early?) and putting ourselves in position to control our own destiny heading into the final two weeks of the season.

I'm really concerned about Mike Brown's durability. This is his first full year at quarterback and he is taking a beating. He is compensating for a lack of a consistent running back. We will have at least 2 more big games and then hoefully, the playoffs. He can't continue to take the beating his is taking. Every time he runs I hold my breath. He doesn't run like a quarterback who slides and avoids big hits. He runs like a running back and takes defenders on. He was limping again today during the second half. Aldreakis Allen anyone . . . . . .

12. I think Chris had a cramp

13. Mike appeared to be limping after the game

14. I absolutely love #80 Wreide. As the students were pouring out after halftime he was shouting at them. I doubt they could heart him, but it was hilarious. He was yelling at them to come back, and asking why they were leaving. At one point, he said "where are you going, It's Lynchburg, there is nothing to do." Then he was yelling at the cheerleaders, trainere, and some of the town side fans to go up and stop them. He was awesome. He really gets into the game and cheers on the team.

student side is a joke like normal. They split every game at if the elements are in play at all. The only way to hold them is a competitve game and we never have any at home so they don't stay.

Yes student side is a joke. I was hollerin all kinds of craziness like there the worse fans in college football and other things I may or may not should have said. But I don't care I'm so sick of our fan base! SICK OF IT! I DON'T GET IT! AT ALL! I tell you what there were some kids at this game probably in the 3rd grade hollerin at the top of their lungs the ENTIRE GAME and I absolutely loved them. Whoever raised them raised them to be perfect fans haha. They started chantin there own chants so I decided to chant with them HAHA! The military half time show was awesome. Got to stand up and be "appreciated" for a few seconds lol. It was pretty cool. I think those kids were honestly what made my game day experience. These little kids were better fans than 95% of our students!!!!

My 2 oldest boys (6th grade and 10th grade) stayed the whole game and yelled and cheered. Some guy came up to them and thanked them for staying the whole game and cheering. He said he always stays the whole game and was tired of folks leaving early. I don't think it was you though Mike cause they said he had gray hair.

I think that we could win a game 68-0 and people would find things to be complaining/hand wringing about (which is a personal annoyance to me). Mike had a decent game...perfect...certainly not...especially that one interception...but still not cause to just say "oh he is a terrible quarterback...". Good to see the running game have some success (although it would be helpful to have a power or jumbo set to work from. Good to see Korrey get a chance in the 4th (bummed about the fumble at the goal line). the first TD to Summers was right in front of the band and that was just plain sick...The defense, save the first TD (where really he needed to make a perfect throw and that is exactly what he did), was pretty stout. On the second one it looks like they went with a quick count and were able to get a good push.

But all in all a win is a win (and a dominating one at that)...on to Myrtle Beach for some surf, sun and the last piece of the puzzle setting up a winner-take all showdown for the Big South AQ.

Im not even going to comment on the student side...

Mike's not a terrible QB, but when you have a guy like Tyler behind him, and you KNOW that Mike can be the BEST OFFENSIVE PLAYER IN THE CONFERENCE at WR/Wildcat, I don't see why you give Tyler some more time at QB. Maybe not even a full swap, but it would help Mike to get him in open space more and to go up against guys more his size rather than trying to run over D-Lineman, and it puts our best players on the field. Our best combo of players is Chris, Mike, and Pat wide with BJ in the slot, Tyler at QB, and SirChauncey at RB. Or for a bigger formation, Gagliardi in at h-back instead of Pat out wide.
