It's game week. Beat the Blue Hose

Wow. I didn't think I would miss football that much during the bye. I was wrong. Like I said in a previous thread, I'm glad the Hose got a W and hopefully will get the need to beat someone out of their system. I don't think I could take what happened two years ago.

Since they beat G-W, who beat Akron, that means Akron could be a legit contender in the bottom 3 of the Big South.

p.s. I'm kidding (for those who don't understand sarcasm) - I hate it when people use these stupid arguments.

Akron is 0-8 and just plain awful. G-W is the only team they have kept within single didgets.

We could lose one conference game and still get in, as long as it's not against Stony Brook. I really don't see us having any kind of letdown against Presby. If memories of 2 years ago are that painful to us as fans, you can imagine what it will be for the players and coaches. I'll settle for any win, but I really don't expect it to be close.

Didnt you just tell me in another thread that the tie breaker goes to the head to head match up.

If that is the case, Presby is the only game we could lose and still get in if we win out.
If we lose to Coastal or G-Webb and they win out, We would not make it due to the tie break.

You are correct. CCU/GW play this weekend so we could lose to the loser of that game and still get the auto-bid by winning out.

Does anyone know if the game is going to be carried live on TV at all?? I'm supposed to be going, but I'm having second thoughts since I have a mandatory class for work and wont be able to get on the road until around 5pm Friday.

More than likely it'll be on channelsurfing. I don't think they've failed yet televising a liberty football game.

Oh no, don't make me feel bad! LOL. I hate long road trips, so the thought of leaving NoVA at 5pm on a Friday is making it even worse. Still have a couple of days to decide though.

Where are you traveling from??

Thanks for getting this rolling, jcmanson. I have very limited internet access here in PNG. Still trying to figure out what time of day it will be here in Papua New Guinea when the game is live on Saturday ... which could be Sunday here.

It is being streamed by the Big South network. I plan on buying the game. Has anyone bought a game this year? Not sure if it is worth it....P.S. I am really thinking about getting a slingbox for everyone on here.

Coach Rocco's weekly press conference has not been loaded to libertyflames.com yet. It is normally up by this time wednesdays.

A Presby fan on how "great" a coach Rocco is:
Agreed, except get to the next level. Have they been to the playoffs in the last 5 years? We have. Just sayin....
:rofl

I started to post over there then thought better of it.

you could post "best wishes to continued good health" and then be told how arrogant and condescending you are.

so much for talking football.

the same crap we hear everywhere else- since we're Christian we should shut our mouths and be doormats. When we lose, we're a joke; just some stupid religious school. If we win (or are just proud of the teams), we are arrogant @#$%^ who are war-mongering right wing fanatics who hate gays and modern science.

Just saw online that the game is going to be played live on the Liberty Channel. Not sure if it will be online due to it being a Big South production. Very exciting!

I think it will be a feed from Stupid Hose Vision so don't get too excited, haha. Just kidding, I'm just excited to see something and hear Alan's golden tones.

Being a Christian has nothing to do with the conversation going on over @ bluehosesports. It started when an LU'er posted this comment:

Hey guys. Congrats on the win this past Saturday as it was a long time coming. I’m just glad I don’t have to hear “they haven’t won since ’08 against Liberty” anymore. We aren’t ranked #17 anymore. We’re #12 in the coaches poll and #16 in TSN’s poll. When we played you in 08 we were #14.

There’s no way we take you lightly. With a bye week, your win, and us losing the last time we came down there (ruining our chance at the playoffs) we will be ready to play. No doubt about that.

Hope you guys enjoy #10 Mike Brown and #1 Chris Summers. Our QB and WR. There’s a good chance both of them will be drafted in 2 years. Here’s their stats thus far:
QB Mike Brown 137/212 1856 yards, 17 TDs, 397 rushing yards 4 rushing TDs
WR Chris Summers 54 receptions, 753 yards, 12 TDs.
They’re both Juniors and when they finish their careers at LU they will be remembered as the best QB/WR combo we’ve ever had. Summers will rewrite our receiving record book barring any significant injuries.

We love to throw the ball. Our run game has been a disappointment this year but they’ve improved the past few weeks.

Our Defense is solid with a few play makers. If you’re at the game get a good look at #98 NG Asa Chapman. Kid is huge, close to 400 pounds and an all-conference performer.

to which some of us thought the little "hope you guys enjoy #10 Mike Brown and #1 Chris Summers," the fact that you just had to correct the ranking, and mention that Asa was 400 lbs, seemed a little condescending and "smack-ish."

It was really not a big deal. If you were talking smack or being whatever it is you think we thought you were being thats OK - just don't try and act like you were "just coming to talk football" and then play the we-always-get-picked-on-because-we're-Christians card when we say something back.

We're a jovial group over at bluehosesports - gosh we'd have to be after 2 years of losing and we always talk ball. Don't take it personal - if you did, I apologize.

Now, here's to PC beating #12 Liberty!
