Flames Illustrated Feature: The following article ran as a Senior Game Day feature in the Oct. 2 Flames Illustrated game program. Soeren Wendland has now started all seven games this year at right tackle and has helped the Flames rank No. 6 nationally in total offense (450.71 ypg) and No. 12 in scoring offense (34.57 ppg).

Like almost every other young boy in Germany, Soeren Wendland got his start in athletics by playing "football," otherwise known as soccer in the United States. Before long, though, he discovered a very different version of football, one which eventually took him to a new continent and saw him become the starting right tackle and team captain for the 2010 Liberty Flames football team.
