HAHAHA! Great video! I think this is the set-up for our new mascot for the home opener. I love that Coach Rocco was a part of this.

That was really good. There were 8 billion different ways that they could've went about doing this and I think this way is awesome. Great call on that one.

Its about Flipping time. Im tired of the plush looking eagle with a t-shirt on. This is a great method of hopefully making a transition. It gives a little suspense. What if we even came out with new Jerseys for the Stadium opener!

I'll bet they have a cool entrance planned with another video.
It has to be cool though, because I was there in Jack Murphy stadium the night the San Diego Chicken hatched:

Which of you Meatheads made this comment on the video on FB?
Best Rocco get the Offense ready for JMU.

SJ - this looked like something you would've done.......did you ?? Anyway, I LOVE IT!! They did do an awesome job and it's a lot better than what I expected. I can't wait to see what Bill does to the poor guy.
I'll have to admit that I was one of those that didn't like the new Sparky costume when it first came out (he was not intimidating enough) but through the years he has grown on me and now I'll be sad to see him go.
That San Diego video was awesome!! I like the idea of it being ushered into the stadium with police escort.

What does this have to do with this "Set-up for a new mascot" thread?

It was a comment under the video on Facebook. Some dummy thinks this video was shot like this week I guess.

Yeah, that's much better than I could've done. They had really good equipment and were better than me.

Just hoping that he doesn't look like the Radford mascot--with feathers.

I'm going to be there on the 2nd, so I'm really looking forward to this, AND getting to see the first game in the "new" stadium. I got to see the first game when it was first build, so I guess this is fitting. Sucks that I have to miss homecoming, though.

Yeah, I was hoping to bump into you. But we may be at Fred's for dinner the next day after Homecoming.

One thing I think LU should do with the mascot. You know how Spirit FM does their VBS express and goes around to the different churches handing out frisbees and stuff like that.
Liberty should send fliers to churches and offer to send Sparky to the VBSes. They could have a table with information on the Flames Kids club. I think it's a pretty good deal for $25 to get a child under 12 into all football and baskeball games, and you might get some new fans out of it.
It seems like a missed oppertunity. I believe VT has the hokie that can appear at events, and there are actually 4 Hokie birds...but it's pretty expensive to have one show up.
