Potential recruiting Impact from Muncie

Apparently the BSU staff had a slew of recruits on hand this past Saturday to theoretically see the Cardinals clean up a lowly FCS opponent. Wouldn't it be cool if some of those kids suddenly expressed an interest in the other team winning on the field?

The question is... how much better are they than guys we already go after?

I think they are likely on a similar level. But I'd rather take the top players from a wider pool than the top half of a smaller pool. It raises the quality of talent. I look forward to the day when we can truly recruit nationally. This past weekend gave us some rare exposure in the Midwest. That used to be a well that we went to often and hard for players back in the day.

Well, Seth Curry got us quite a few mentions. And we've had games on ESPN. But other than that, sure.

You might still get a pass for another few months. But that clock is ticking.

I'm 2+ years in, and I still control the remote.
If she's po'ed, just tell her you're giving her more time to focus on her responsibilities - like making you some nachos. Works for me!

Let's look at it from a few steps back -
In no particular order -
1. New stadium
2. Win over FBS school
3. Momentum from previous 3 years
4. NFL exposure
5. Great coaching staff
6. Head coach in long term contract
Should clean up!!!

Hopefully not another for a long long time. That Clemson game was such a disappointment.

Hopefully not another for a long long time. Every game on the ESPN family of networks has been such a disappointment.

We probably don't need 40 there unless they're juniors. We've got like 14 scholarships for next year and 11 or 12 of them are claimed.

If ever there were a year when we would like juniors to be on campus it is this one with the stadium changes. Hopefully enough are impressed that they return for camp in the summer.

How do you think this past weekend affects Virginia? Specifically the tidewater area. Obviously JMU stock goes way up, VT probably down. Where do we stand in there? I'd say probably a little worse off since we are regularly recruiting head to head against JMU. Even if we beat them in 2 weeks, that win is a major selling point.

that could bump them up but to be able to come in and tell a kid that we beat the team that beat VT can only help us in stealing a few of their recruits
