Fairfield, Conn. - Sophomore quarterback Jeff Sinclair (Natrona Heights, Pa. / Highlands) hit junior tight end Shadrae King (McKeesport, Pa. / McKeesport) with an eight-yard touchdown pass with just 17 seconds to play to help lift the Robert Morris University football team to a come-from-behind victory over Sacred Heart, 35-31, Saturday afternoon in the 2010 Northeast Conference opener for both programs.

The victory, which snapped an eight-game losing streak for the Colonials in the month of September, improved RMU to 1-1 overall and 1-0 in the NEC on the 2010 campaign, while the Pioneers slipped to 1-1 overall and 0-1 in the conference.

if we did turn around and play ball state again tho, would we still win? i think mike brown wouldn't throw 3 more interceptions and their receivers would catch better. with wenning in there for the whole game tho it would be a much tougher game... im glad we played them before (well i guess really it would be while) they figured out how much better he was than their starter.

but back on topic, lets not fall into the trap against RMU.

Forgive me for wanting to keep that game on my mind for an extra day.

As for RMU, they dropped their season opener to a non-scholarship team and needed a TD in the final seconds to escape a limited scholarship team. We are easily the marquee game on their schedule. While we will be a heavy favorite, anyone watching football this fall knows how much that fact is worth.

Joe Walton would probably be the most decorated coach we've ever faced as a program. Many of the Old Hags will remember him particularly with the Jets back in the New York Sack Exchange days.

With three straight away games scheduled after the home opener, it has to make you wonder why in the world they would schedule something like that, especially when two of the three are an FBS and top tier FCS. Probably because they were expecting some sort of delay, and wanted to make sure they had the extra time to get it finished. Insider information? No, just my .02. Makes sense.

Rocco said this to be the case. This series is a home and home. This year was originally scheduled to be in Lynchburg, but they switched it just in case the stadium wasn't ready.

High ranked team that is obviously going to the playoffs this year. Liberty is just coming off a huge win @ Ball State. This is a great measuring stick to see how RMU could match up if they did make the playoffs this year.

Forgive us but it just doesn't feel comfortable for us to be the biggest game ever for a fellow FCS program. Like the NEC, the Big South gives us such a low profile that it is tough to think of ourselves in that sense especially since we've never been to the playoffs ourselves.

What can you tell us about the Colonials program under Coach Walton?

How involved is he on an everyday basis these days?

What can we expect from a gameday experience this Saturday?
