Wecome Back!
This was a great game for us not just because it was a win but because it should also leave us hungry to improve. Still plenty to work on but our D is much more impressive than in years past and MB's ablility to shake off some bad decisions and still get the job done in crunch time is just going to be huge for everyone's confidence.

Jerry, Jr. has given students permission to be late for curfew to meet the team at the airport at 1:45 AM. Virginia Aviation behind the main terminal.
Too Cool!!

This was kind of a best case scenario. We got the win, but it wasn't impressive enough that the team will feel like it can rest on it's laurels. They were an EASY catch away from losing it. Lots of stupid penalties. A few mental mistakes from Mike Brown. I think coach will still be able to let them have it next practice.

Wow.
I remember when Liberty beat Eastern Michigan back in '89. I didn't even understand the difference between 1-a and 1-aa at the time (

), but it was a pretty exciting time to be a Flame.
(And thanks to BJ for fixing my Ball State QB goof. I realized it just as FF crashed.)
My only real concern is the lack of production from our running backs. It didn't hurt us today because Ball State couldn't stop Mike Brown (even after picking him off 3 times

), but it could hurt us in the future. The defense is a total beast this season, though!

With this win and GW's today should give the BSC a bit more respect in FCS circles. I will be interested to see the polls this week. Getting better every week...

I also think Ball State will end up a pretty good team this year. I think they found a qb tonight and I wish them the best. Every win from here out makes us look better. I am their biggest fan the rest of the season. Beat Purdue!

Poor Cardinal...run over by the Brown-Summers Express!!!! I believe it is still Summer-time in Indiana!!!
How many yards did Summers end up with?

This would be our biggest win ever, don't you think? Congratulations to Danny Rocco and the team! It looks like the flight will arrive around 1:45 AM. Curfew is waived for dorm students who want to attend. The flight will arrive at Virginia Aviation. After you turn into the Lynchburg Regional Airport from Wards Road, take your first right and follow the winding road to Virginia Aviation!

I am very happy that they played with the wrong QB for as long as they did.

Let's just say this is on the short list with one other game ... that incredible game with Eric Green's TD catch to be EMU.
Must nerves are still a mess and the game's been over for an hour.

I'm not sure you can say the running game from the back position was unproductive. It seemed to be by design since there were so few carries other than Mike. I think we will figure the run game out and in the mean time we will do what is needed to win.

Congratulations on the win and good luck the rest of the season.
The game went just about how I thought it would except the final score.
You guys have a great coach and staff, QB and supporting cast of talented players!
Coach Parrish was right about Brown and speaking of QB's I think we may have found one in true freshman Keith Wenning!
I have enjoyed getting to watch your team and posting with all of you on this board!

Wow! That was awesome!
I agree with most of what was written above. We didn't play our best game (3 turnovers, a couple of missed FGs, virtually no rushing game, and a bunch of dumb penalties) and we still beat an FBS school on the road! That gives us a great reason to celebrate and yet we know that our guys can do even better. Gotta love it!
Also, did you all hear the BSU announcers during their last drive? They were acting like "ho-hum, our offense will easily score against THIS defense". Even when it was 4th and 2, I didn't think they actually "got it" that they were about to lose! The fourth down defensive call was "priceless", I think the QB took about a step and a half before he got annihilated!!
Can't wait to see Coach Rocco's show on Tuesday!!
GO FLAMES!!

Another position on offense i would really like to see step up is the tight end. It can be a big help to have a big reliable safety valve (gives MB somewhere else to go on those tight throws that ended in picks)
