Wanted to introduce ourselves as we're sort of the unofficial home of BSU football on the Web. We have a Visiting Fan's Guide, with recommendations for hotels, food, and entertainment, as well as some other local attractions. Give us a visit, take the ribbing in good spirits, and here's to a successful game for both of our teams, though clearly we want a BSU win!

It's easier to poke fun at our rules than it is to talk about football. I don't mind it as long as they at least get our rules right......which he didn't. BOOOOO

The self proclaimed "unofficial home of BSU football" is very unofficial. It is just one fan's opinion. If you want information on Ball State football, your best bet is to visit BSUFans, where most of you have already noticed that most of our fans are very objective and respectful. We expect a great game Saturday night. By the way, I think this is a really good site. It's a better message board than several FBS school message boards in my opinion. I'm glad I found your site. I have learned alot about your football team. Best of luck the remainder of the season.

Thanks for stopping by...maybe I'm numb to it because I've grown up with the comments (mostly in person) but not everyone is stressing about what one guy says nor does this represent Ball State as a whole. No worries here man!

Actual preview is coming, fear not about that. But the blogosphere does poke fun at opponents. As for missing the rules, I used to work at Lynchburg College, so I do know a little about the place. When I worked there, and it has been a few years, shorts were not permitted, smoking was not permitted, drinking was not permitted, and dancing was not permitted. If that's changed, then that is news to me.

Personally, I think a code of student conduct designed to represent the institution to the highest degree both on and off campus is something very neat. I just think it's a bit intrusive. But that's just me. I'd love to know how the rules have changed, though.

Shorts are allowed. Everything else is frowned upon.

And at the late night event at target they allowed dancing. There were a LOT of LU students in a big group dancing. I was pretty surprised.

From Wikipedia, which may be wrong, but I was under the same impressions...

"In the summer of 2005, the university announced it was slightly relaxing its in-class dress code to allow flip-flops, capri pants, jeans, and other casual articles of clothing (but not shorts) to be worn in the classroom as long as the clothing did not have holes in them. Rules such as collared shirts for male students still apply."

If by shorts you mean out of class, and out of convo, and out of academic buildings past 4:30PM... then you're right. Jeans, and khakis are still required for the three listed above, along with a collared shirt.

I love the whole "I lived in Lynchburg for a year, so I know everything about Liberty" attitude. AND the "blogosphere = edgy, insulting people" attitude, too. Maybe the sports blogs are, but the people I've interacted with have been, for the most part, normal, intelligent people. I'm starting to really sound like an :oldhag, but I really miss the days when new media was actually new.

Guys,

I have nothing but respect for LU, you guys are a great school, with the real ability to become D1. Who knows, maybe in 20 years we're talking about LU as a MAC opponent. But come on. This is football. There has to be some trash talking. This is a huge game for both teams. We win, we're 2-0 heading into Purdue. You win, and you're 2-0 with your toughest game behind you. This is football! have some fun!

1st I have a lot of respect for Ball St fans as well.
2nd, we are D1 haha
3rd, JMU may prove to be a tougher opponent but we'll just have to wait and see
