JMU isn't outbidding us. Even if they did, we would travel well to Harrisonburg.

Yeah, I saw some JMU fans on one of the forums talking about the fact that they wouldn't be bidding for playoff games this year so they could get to work on the next phase of their construction process. If we match up with them, it would probably be in our house and they would bring a boatload of fans.

They would fight like heck to avoid regular-season rematches in the first two rounds, so I don't think you'd see Liberty-JMU or UNH-W&M in those games.

Construction equipment will be moving back in as soon as the regular season is over. No home playoff games for JMU this year.

Really? You like our chances against Appy State?
Dont be shocked if we host a game either....we'll want to show off the new stadium.

yeah this bracket is realistic except we'd host Elon. We'd win that. I don't think Elon sees the playoffs though.
But I'd LOVE to play Appy.

the way our administration backs football, i cant see how we don't pay whatever it takes for a home game.
esp. since we only have 4 real home games on the schedule this year (city stadium doesn't count)

i also think if we want to keep coach rocco happy LU NEEDS to pay whatever it takes for home playoff games

It's a bid process. It's not known what the other teams are going to bid. I agree that Liberty needs to be aggressive with their bids. The team can win at home or on the road, but hosting a home game/s will increase the exposure in the local area and will encourage more alumni/fans to go to the games.

but is it an auction style bid where you can one-up the other teams bid?

I would be willing to be a good sum of money we don't meet in the first round. the committee will do everything in their power to avoid it

Actually the 1st round is two days after Thanksgiving, isn't it? I thought it was up against the mens team at the South Padre Invitational.
And yes, I am too lazy to check right now.

Yeah, that's what I think he meant.

That's not what I meant, but it's what I was hoping for. We really need to hope that we don't have to play in the opening round. If it is 2 days after turkey day, there will be a paltry (or poultry) 5,000-7,000 fans in attendance for our first ever playoff game. Basically, we really need to find a way to beat JMU (or play them really close) in order to get the most bang for our playoff-hosting bucks.
