Fan the Flames Game #1: St Francis (PA)

(2-9)

(8-3)
This is the second meeting in four seasons between these two programs…the last time the Red Flash came to Lynchburg, the Flames jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, rolling to a 68-10 victory. Rashad Jennings (now of the Jacksonville Jaguars) ran for 107 yards and a TD while Brock Smith threw for 194 and three TDs of his own.
The Red Flash have a new head coach in Chris Villarial,,\ former NFL lineman and offensive coordinator under previous head coach Dave Opfar. The Red Flash, out of the Northeast Conference, have not posted a winning season since 1992 (8-2…Liberty went 7-4 that season) and have posted five winless seasons in that span.
Now I would like to take a moment and say before I posted my score prediction that I was on FlameFans (a fan board for Liberty athletics where I post my blogs for discussion) and a fan from Presbyterian College took umbrage with my prediction. I say to that fan, I did not mean to be either “unprofessional” or “hubristic” in my prediction, but I do think that Liberty will win this one pretty handily. I do expect St Francis (as well as every other opponent that Liberty will face this season (including the Blue Hose) to give their full measure on the field but some teams are just much better than others on a given day and on this given day Liberty will be exactly that against the Red Flash
Liberty 72
St Francis (PA) 0

Not exactly. There's a response to Swiss Militant that could have either been posted in another thread or PM'd.
Also, I dont think Rashad Jennings(of the Jacksonville Jaguars) and Brock Smith(of the more popular Milano Rhinos) were mentioned at all in the Season Outlook or the Season Preview.
So really there is a plethora of new material and you should stop being PollyPrissyPants(of South Park).

Isn't responding to a person's criticism by using their message board name and putting it in the actual preview "unprofessional?"

Frankly I dont know (I havent exactly been taught a lot of standards of journalistic professionalism...anything Ive learned has been from trial and error) but I went ahead and edited it anyway just to be sure

I still can't believe you believe they will not at least score. We are going to beat them without any problems, but come on they will at least score a couple fg's or a touchdown. Its how games like this always seem to work.
BJ always gulps the kool-aid anyways so it is what it is

Id be doing a disservice if I didnt stick with it. Also, Just because I have LU putting up the third highest score in program history and the largest margin of victory, Im all of a sudden a kool-aid drinker? I made much more outlandish picks last year. Id have to dig up my prediction thread from last year but I caught much greater flack for those Im pretty sure

If BJ is right, there will be a pile of crow to eat. But since that is not going to happen (I say 38-3) the crows are safe. If we were going to keep the first string in all game it may be that high.

I posted that before I did my blog so I could get in on the score game...I knew once i posted a score in the blog I was gonna practically marry myself to that score whether it turns out to be right or wrong

So 71-7 was considered a weekend fling, and now that you're married to 72-0 there's no turning back.

I am not telling you to change your prediction BJ. I just think its a ridiculous prediction and the guy from PC wasn't out of line to say something. You are acting like he condemned you to hell for your opinion or something. You're not some kind of martyr here. If you make predictions or write a blog or whatever else people are going to think you're wrong. Get use to it early.

72-0 seems too extreme to me. We should blow them, yes, out but not that bad. They did hang with New Hampshire last year and didn't get totally wasted against UNI. I think that UNH and UNI are probably better than us at this point. I was thinking along the lines of a 45-10 score.
