Had one of the G-W player parents send me a PM over at championshipsubdivision.com telling me Marty Patterson got hurt, and is apparently out for the year. No details of the how or when this took place, I'll follow up when I get more info.

You can't be serious!? Won't believe until I see it in writing by a credible source. I certainly hope this isn't the case. Patterson is an absolute beast and a player that had legit NFL potential. Please keep us posted.

thinking back to the BSOUTH media day and the joke his coach made:
Gardner-Webb linebacker Marty Patterson, who led the conference in tackles a year ago, was the pick for preseason defensive POY. The last four Bulldogs who have earned the honor — Brian Johnston, Mario Brown and Jeffery Williams — all got hurt at some point during the ensuing season, prompting GWU coach Steve Patton to say, “I’m praying for you, Marty.”
