Liberty’s 2011 football recruiting class now has six commitments, as Zach Erickson of Memphis University High School in Tennessee has given a verbal commitment to the Flames, according to Zach’s father, Todd Erickson.

Erickson was listed by MaxPreps.com as a 6-foot-1, 230-pound linebacker.
This was reported by Chris Lang earlier tonight.

Anyone know how many scholarship slots we have for the 2011 class? It is harder to keep up with football with the grey shirts but I am guessing less that last year?

By my count we only have 11 seniors that are on scholly. Now, I’m not sure if those are 11 full rides or partials or what. It’s almost impossible to keep up with the scholly situation as a fan for football.

Of course transfers in or out could have some impact. But yeah, we are doing very nicely staying in the mix for some very high caliber talent while they wait to see if if any BCS schools come calling ... which is less & less likely these days as most of the big boys have their classes nearly finished up.
