What team would you like to see on LU schedule in the future

I would like to see us play UVA, of course we need to have a better, stronger team. We could still play them as a I-AA team as I think 1-A teams can now play a 1-AA team without being penalized come bowl time. Who would you like to see LU play?

JMU. That used to be a good rivalry back in the days they had Gary Clark and Charles Haley and we played at City Stadium.
Univ of Richmond. Just because of the proximity.
Of course, I'm looking most forward to the day when we WHUP THOSE COASTAL BOYS!

Notre Dame.
Yes, we'd lose 100-0, but it'd be fun for the media, yes?

The Dukes of JMU.

The only problem with Richmond is that they have basically one open date a year ... VMI and the I-A (alternating between Duke, Virginia and Vanderbilt) are on the schedule for at least the next six years. Last year, they filled the spot with Lafayette. This year, it's Bucknell.

Perhaps 4everfsu should have said REALISTICALLY.

The question is what team would you like to see, realistically or not. You never know when a 1-A team has a team cancel out of a game like Auburn did years ago to FSU when Terry Bowden was fired and FSU had to get another team at the last moment. Late in the season any team would be desperate, so a 1-AA team like LU could get money and national exposure along with maybe a butt kicking. If you want to play with the big boys, sometime you have to step up and face them. Me I rather dream and think big, but then that is just me

Think BIG. Then WHY UVA? Unless you enjoy a good Zima tailgate.
OK--If we are going BIG, then HOKIE HOKIE HOKIE HI!!!! If they can play JMU, then, to coin a phrase:
"Why not Liberty?"

IAA- Id say App State, RIchmond, Georgia Southern
IA- Id say UNC, UVA, UL (Louisville)
And I thought Id think outside the box and say Id like to see us face the Mt Union Purple Raiders the best team ever in DIII

Everyone is saying I-A schools that we would need a miracle the size of parting the waters to win. I would much rather play a school like ECU or a lower level I-A that we would have a chance to compete with. Those are the types of I-As we should play to see if we're ready to make the leap.

Ok some of these schools don't field a team but it is funny to think about: (at least to me)
Flames v Tulane- Get it fire and water
Liberty v Citadel - Talk about opposites
LU v FU - Do the stags of fairfield have a team?
LU v ORU - Whose side is God REALLY on?
LU v Providence - Flames and Friars
LU v Stanford - Two schools who mascots and names don't mach.
LU v UIC - Flames v Flames
LU v USF - It would give Ron White a free trip to the Bay area to protest

AG i used to respect you but since you are licking colin cowherd's boots with the zima blast about UVA, you just went down a notch!

besides that tool cowherd has never stepped on the campus! LOSER!! i digress... if it is a I-AA game i would like to see JMU, Richmond, or Montana. I-A? Duke or East Carolina.

To hijack this thread for a minute--I have no idea why he rips on UVA so bad--but I think it is hilarious. I also have no idea why his so un-natural love for Tech. I don't really have anything against UVA, but to hear a national radio guy rip the school so bad, it's almost like he went to Tech.
Why not a game against Mars Hill, a D-II team. We can have the Christians against the Lions.

PH LU vs USF ?
Which USF, U of San Francisco or U of South Florida? Both are in bay areas

I would like to play:
Buffalo because it would be funny to realistically beat them
UVA to see how this city would react all week long
JMU for obvious reasons
Cinncinati Bengals because I would go to that game

I wouls seriously like to see us play some of the dominant teams in the other divisions like Mt Union from DIII and Grand Valley State from DII

How about Boise State? We could ask to wear the blue uniforms and go camo on them.
Seriously...
-Hampton- We had a couple of good games with them the late 90's.
-Like everyone else said- JMU
-DI realistic game...ECU
I like the idea of keeping it regional to attract more fans...although more national exposure wouldn't hurt either.

South Florida has football and San Fran does not. That's why he was making the road trip for Ron White crack. Its the one out west.
For selfish reasons, I'd just love to have them play someone in Texas either I-A or I-AA. Sam Houston and Priaire View are closest to my house but I'd be good with Houston, Rice,Texas Southern or even A&M.
Otherwise, count me in the camp who would love a return to the days when the JMU game meant something. Otherwise I am all for us scheduling roadies at areas where we could expand our recruiting influence. It'd be great to have agame in Florida most every year.

yeah BJ, win or lose we get hurt. What possible good can come from a game against them?

The title said, GAmes we would like to see in the LU schedule in the future. With everybody decrying us playing these cream puff DII schools. It would be pretty nice to see us play a top level DII school. A win shows the supremacy of DI-AA over D II and III. What's wrong with thinking outside the box?
But failing those Id like to see us play Georgia Southern
