LILLARD LEAVES CAVS

Virginia football coach Mike London said yesterday that former Liberty football standout Corey Lillard has withdrawn from school and is transferring. Lillard was a sophomore safety for the Cavaliers. He appeared in three games as a true freshman last season.

"He decided he wanted to pursue other options than playing at Virginia," London said. "He didn't have anything negative to say."

Liberty football coach Tom Buzzo said Lillard's decision had nothing to do with football. He said Lillard will take visits to Liberty University, Delaware and Marshall this week and settle on a transfer destination by Saturday.

I feel like it will be us or Delaware. He could play lock down corner or start at either safety position for us. He's a big hitter that would put fear in the receivers coming over the middle. He would also be an explosive return man as well.

after the last week on CS, he better choose us over Delaware.
