A Sea Of Red

I have been redecorating my office at work. Since football season is around the corner I wanted a decoration for my office and I have been looking a replica mini or a full sized football helmet for my office. I was wondering if any fellow alumni or anybody else out there could help with locating these helmets. I think mini helmets are classy looking office decoration for home or work. Just my opinion. I hope someone could steer me in the right direction. I have been searching this on the web and cannot find any helmets for liberty. I have a coworker who is a Georgia Southern Alumnus and he has one for his school and is just looks great and I want one really one for my office.

Ditto. I think someone on here could make it happen.

I especially would pay top dollar for a full sized replica riddel football helmet. I think those are super cool and ultra classy if you ask me. I really want to show my LU football pride. Especially to all those snotty Cal Poly grads that I work with and that Georgia Southern grad who is a coworker of mine.

BTW I know that the last time LU came to Cal Poly was 1998 and lost 45-35 but I would like for them to visit San Luis Obispo and lay the smack down on the mustangs. I think it would be a good break for the team to be a in an area that has some of the best coastline in the U.S.

Without getting off subject sorry. I would love to see something like this happen. Man it would be great.

I feel your pain. You know what, I have been to other FCS games and venues and these universities have awesome merchandise. JMU has some nice mini helmets from independent providers and JMU university just came out with a Nike football jersey and it looks pretty nice.

I know some people on this board mentioned that the bookstore would
be selling see legit merchandise like LU Nike football jerseys. Does anybody on the inside know when this might happen?

My hubby was given a Liberty Flames mini-helmet, in it's own case and all. I'll ask the guy who gave it to him where he got it from. It's SOOOOO cute. If any of you get a chance to stop by the FOC, maybe Coach Rocco will let you see his whole collection. He's got a mini-helmet from every team he's coached at. It's a site to see!!!

I was also looking at other sites that allow you to customize mini helmets and I was looking at that as a possibility as well. I just don't want to go through the trouble of designing it with the manufacturer if that is the case. I am just lazy I guess and I don't have that kind of time. I am afraid if i did go through the trouble the helmet would not be look like the original. I actually like out helmet. I know buryyourduke stated that he would like to see it changed but it looks pretty cool IMHO.

Bozlady it would be great if you could find out the info.

A really cool one would be with a visor that is tinted. Now that looks awesome. BTW 56 days till opening day at Williams stadium for the opener. It will be awesome.

WOW! That is a full sized helmet! I had no clue. Now that is awesome I could honestly not tell that that is full sized from the picture. NICE! I was thinking to myself wow that is a really nice mini helmet.

The biggest thing that has to happen for this type of merchandise is that there needs to be a demand. Right now there is not enough demand for high end merchandise for the bookstore or whoever to sink the money into it and risk not selling it. Whenever you go to a mall, a sporting goods store, or anything, you need to ask if they have any Liberty gear. Show that there is a demand and people may start carrying more.

There is no hurry bozlady. Thank you for your research and that is more than anyone could ask for. I agree with Superjon. There is probably not an enough demand for it for the high end merchandise and risk losing money on merchandise that has not sold. I think there being a demand is definitely part of the equation but also coming out with sample merchandise such as Nike jerseys in small quantities and sell them as an experiment and see what outcome of sale there is could be a an option. There can be a small measure of what is to come. This could be especially before football season and the demand might be there. It is worth trying if the university would look into it.

I like to see the Full sized helmets on pre and post game interviews that Coach Rocco has on the press conference table. They look great!

yeah bookstore junk is expensive enough right now. I can't imagine what "higher end" stuff would cost.


And I think the basic layout of the helmet is cool. I'll agree with that. I just think the logo needs to be consistent. Our logo looks terrible when it's just the thin flame lines and no background. It needs to look like what's on the field, with the white background, and the red eagle. And then even once you do that, the helmet may be too busy looking since we have very simple (and awesome) uniforms.

I agree. Consistent design is important. Yes the uniforms are cool, especially the homecoming Unis.

I think there's a lot of people on and off campus that would buy various sizes of the helmet if it was available. id LOVE to have one. id love it even more if i could get the team to sign it

My buddy can do a great Elmer Towns impression, and his Ed Hindson isnt to shabby
