hope he doesn't get hurt as often as his dad

"You've got a guy who runs a sub-4.6 (seconds) in the 40-yard dash playing defensive end," Vogt said of Kearse, who was timed in the 40 in 4.49 seconds. "That made coaching the secondary easy, because you know the quarterback is not going to have any time to throw the ball.
"I've given up trying to figure out what the recruiters are looking at. I can't figure them out."
Desmond Kearse, at 6-foot-2, 180 pounds, profiles more as a safety or linebacker in college

Fort Myers (FL) News-Press wrote:Boston, Dunbar's Desmond Kearse and Baker's Jonathan Garcia were invited to compete. While Garcia is firmly committed to Wake Forest, the North-South game will be one more opportunity for uncommitted players such as Kearse and up-in-the-air recruits such as Boston to showcase their wares.
Kearse said he has offers from Florida Atlantic, Middle Tennessee State and Liberty, but he's holding out in hopes of a top Division I bid.
"I hope to get more schools looking at me," Kearse said. "I just want to do a good job."
