Im already anxious to see what this amazing coaching staff we have is going to produce next year. Though we lose a lor of great seniors, im sure Rocco has something up his sleeve already for next season. Projected starters and/or 2010 schedule anyone???

Only one I think you have wrong is running back. Korey Davis will start there.

The only other that could be different is OLB where you have Demetrius Ward. He's good and can fill some roles but I don't know if he'll be at the starter level by next year or not.

Yes he is. He is good.

I think the running back depth chart will be Davis starting, SirChauncey as a change of pace, and Al or Danny as a 3rd down back.

Yes he is. And I was going to put "AA/Chauncey/Davis". We'll see how it works out.

Aldreakis as the 3rd down? Think there is a possibility of him playing multiple roles to keep him on the field?? Didn't he also play DB and Receiver in High School?

Jenkins will have to really kick it into gear to win a starting spot. He's got the talent but the motor is the issue right now.

BJ Hayes will be split out wide. That's his best position. We've got enough proven talent back there next year that we don't have to force him to play RB and get beat up.

Why is it that I imagine BJ as more of a Wes welker type reciever next year? I'd love that. Just sayin

And Mike Brown will be at quarterback 75 percent of the time.

I could see Davis getting some action in both slot and in the backfield. From the practices I have watched I've seen him working a lot with receivers and being switched to running backs later in the season. I don't know if I'd give him the green light over Holloway and Aldreakis but then again that's why I don't get paid the big bucks.

We could have ourselves quite a three headed monster with Davis, Allen and Holloway especially when those guys get to be seniors

SJ: Terry Adams is the kid I was trying to think of the other nite on the phone.

Do you two often chat late at night?? A little bedtime story, then tuck each other in?

Now to hear from the man who does this kind of thing for a living:
2009 was not a typical rebuilding year for LU
By Chris Lang | Sports writer
Published: November 25, 2009

...In a big picture view, the Flames’ 8-3 season in 2009 has to be considered a rousing success. In a small picture view, Saturday’s loss at Stony Brook stings, for sure. Stony Brook claimed a share of the Big South title with that victory. But the fact that Liberty was even in the playoff conversation with a team that had to replace every skill player from a year ago speaks volumes about the strength and depth of the program...

Several young players had breakout seasons, including Brown, cornerback KaJuan Lee, receiver Chris Summers, defensive tackle Asa Chapman and kicker Matt Bevins, all of whom are sophomores.

So the base is there as the Flames look forward to 2009. And the disappointment the team felt on Long Island last weekend can only help fuel the hunger of a team that has won at least a share of the last three conference championships.

Lang, I'm the last guy that should be asking a math question, but don't you mean 2010?

Thanks, LANG, for writing (very succinctly, I might add) exactly what I was trying to say in the postmortem thread.

guess that's why you're paid to write and I just shoot at things.

LANG clarifies some things for us:
the great CHRIS LANG wrote:
With Davis and former Brooke Point High School standout Chase Barnett ready to go, and with freshmen Aldreakis Allen and SirChauncey Holloway with a year under their belts, the Flames’ ground game will look strong heading into spring practice.

The same couldn’t be said heading into the spring of 2009. With Jennings gone, Danny Broggin was the first-team tailback. Though he saw some time at the position this season, Broggin’s strengths were apparent elsewhere, especially in the kick return game. Broggin and B.J. Hayes will both make position switches in the offseason, Broggin to safety and Hayes to receiver.

As for Brown, he’ll be the team’s starting quarterback next season. Rocco said it won’t be a situation like this year, where Beecher took 75 percent of the snaps at quarterback and Brown spent most of his time at receiver and Wildcat QB.

Tyler Brennan will get some time at quarterback, with Brown returning to his role as a receiver. But look for Brown to get the majority of time under center.

It is a long time until spring drills ... much less training camp. A lot can change in that time.
