Go look at our roster under "FB" and see how many guys play that position.

That was a boring response. You’re supposed to come back and say “says jcmanson on a message board.”

If you wanna say he's not a fullback then by all means, say that.

Even Google disagrees.

I was just going off his UVA career. If I remember correctly he was recruited to play RB and only RB. That obviously didn't pan out there.

If you read any of the articles from when he left the team it says, "Who played fullback and running back last year for the Cavaliers."

of course he is, everything he says is golden, no matter what its about. He says it, its fact, and no one else can have an opinion, even if it agrees with him

Robertson didn't intercept a pass against VMI. He had his first career interception at Charleston Southern three weeks ago.

If you read the original article posted it stated that Daryl Robertson had his first career INT against VMI. Lang was correcting the article.

Payne is in his fourth year at UVa, with plants to graduate in the spring.
So he's a botany major?

You're only entitled to an opinion if you can defend it. Of all people, you Rue should know that.

I say this because far too many people on this board can't comprehend this truth.

And here I thought I was the sensitive one on this message board.

You guys, we would be crazy not to want Payne. That guy is a monster. He started out at tailback but was buried in the rotation because of his pass protection skills (or lack thereof). He played RB in the 9-4 2007 year for UVA and filled in for an injured Cedric Pearman and Mikell Simpson with a couple of powerful games. He would be an absolute monster at this level at either FB or RB. He was listed as a FB last year and going into this year before he decided to transfer. Sign me up for the Payne train

These transfers typically enroll for the spring semester, so official word generally comes down on the first day of classes in January.

Payne to transfer to Liberty
Former Virginia running back Keith Payne will play for Liberty next season, Payne told The Post in an interview Tuesday evening. Payne, a first-team All-Met at Oakton High in 2005, left the Cavaliers program before the season opener against William & Mary.

Payne did not want to transfer during the season because he’s due to graduate this year. He rushed for 255 yards on 63 carries with two touchdowns in two seasons and has one year of eligiblity remaining at Liberty.

“The team itself, they have a good chemistry within each other, and the school has a great background,” Payne said. “When I went to visit, it just felt like home. I felt really, really good.”

Payne was encouraged by former Liberty running back Rashad Jennings, who transferred from Pittsburgh and was later drafted by the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars. He also had comfort with Liberty Coach Danny Rocco, who is a former Virginia assistant coach. Payne is built similarly to Jennings and was encouraged by the way Rocco’s team used Jennings.

“I’m just excited to be able to move on and play still,” Payne said. “All the fans who’ve been following me should follow me up to Lynchburg.”
