Just to make everyone happy...
As of Tuesday morning: Saturday's weather H 59° L 39° with a 0% chance of rain...
So Liberty has no reason to go home, but sit around and watch the Flames run up the score... LOL

I really hope this game doesn't turn into "CSU revisited" or worse...

I'm thinking it will look more like the Stupid Hose game, 2009 that is...

It felt good to say that...

At home, that’s not happening.

One thing about VMI every year is no matter what their record is they somehow always get up for playing LU. look at the results since 2002:
2002
VMI 38 LU 14
2003
LU 31 VMI 28 (I wish theyd show that video in convo Friday just because that was one of the coolest moments of my life as an undergrad)
2004
LU 38 VMI 17
2005
VMI 10 LU 7
2006
LU 38 VMI 32
2007
LU 73 VMI 34
2008
LU 38 VMI 26
3 of 7 have been decided by three TDs or more but conversely 3 have been decided by a TD or fewer.

lol...thanks for the sarcasm Sivart...I expect LU to come in fully prepared to win and win convincingly but I certainly would not be surprised if it ended up a close game looking at the overall past history

Going back to what you mentioned about this series... Lets get rid of all information before 2006 (Pre-Rocco)

2008

Ok all wins, lets break it down even further, the two close ones were at VMI (Which is a difficult place to play)... This leaves us with one game to sort of look at: 2008 (LU 73 VMI 34)
So in conclusion, I have no idea how this game will go!?!?!

73-34 was in 2007 not 2008 and yeah its hard to completely gauge how things will go. I mean we had folks picking a close game against CCU and we blew them out, then against CSU they were picking a blowout and we won by 7 with a TD in the 4th quarter. PC went according to form but really you can just about throw the records out when VMI comes up on the schedule.

My mistake, I misread the information... I should of known better because I was at that blowout... (BTW not many people stayed for that one either) but yeah, you're right, It is "any given saturday" for a reason... and this includes teams like Presby and VMI and CSU and CCU and GW and SB... Did I miss anyone???... LOL

No, you don't have to just throw out the records. Rocco at home against VMI is 1-0 with a blowout win. No reason this shouldn't happen again. Our rushing defense is stout, our linebackers are very talented, and our DB's will not let a random pass get behind them. As long as we get used to picking up the option quickly, we will take advantage of VMI turnovers and put it away early. If VMI was better at holding onto the ball, I'd say they had a chance. But you can't give Beecher and the offense any extra drives, we'll kill ya if you do.

i want to agree with you TTL, but i feel like VMI has improved. i do think they will have to bring their "A" game to have a chance, so we will see. Coach Rocco will have the troops fired up for sure, and hopefully a nice crowd will be there. GO FLAMES!

Not that I think we wont win, but it's not to build a solution on. Probably the more important information is VMI's record on the road 1-3, mind two of those were against Richmond and JMU. I just dont want this game to be like the Richmond game, 38-28, thats a little too close for comfort. Richmond probably went in to that game saying were at home and we're good... We do not need to play like that because we may not be as lucky as Richmond...

The team can have whatever attitude it needs to have to win... how I feel about VMI matters very little to the team and the players. It's their job and the coaches job to have them ready, I'm just a stupid homer fan.
I am going to go ahead and say we run all over the Keydets, like we did two years ago.

I wouldn't say Richmond was lucky. They've won 17 straight games and most of those have been against teams much better than VMI. They're just flat out good.

Won't be as big of a deal this week because LU will play much of the game in 4-3 with quicker personnel. But he had quietly played pretty well behind Chapman this season, so it'll hurt for the final two games.
