So 7 teams in front of us lose this week. Now, I know it doesn't automatically mean we will take over these spots, but theoretically we could move up as high as 17th this week... It would be great if we moved up that high!

Well, one of those teams is ineligible anyways, so where they are is really of no consequence... another team that won is ineligible, and Cal Poly is eliminated. Bottom line, between the 3 that are ineligible or eliminated:

12. Central Arkansas..........Lost Ineligible
16. Cal Poly..................... Lost Eliminated
20. Jacksonville State....... Won Ineligibile

Delaware losing to JMU
18. Delaware................... Lost

Hopefully Laffy dropping HC when they play
17. Holy Cross..................Won

and these results
22. Northern Arizona..........Lost
23. Massachusetts............ Lost

That still puts us at 17th... 1 spot out.

And that's not even counting what happens if MSU manages to beat Montana... oh joy.
40. Montana State.............Won

Not holding my breath...

I know that's not counting Weber St or SFA, but I don't see us jumping them in the polls this week and one of them will probably get an at-large (possibly both).

You're not really looking at this the right way. Go to the P-Word thread. You're looking from the wrong perspective. Being 16 in the polls doesn't get you in. Being one of the best 8 at-larges does. It's a different process.

no, no...im quite aware of that. (i.e. last year). what im saying is, that even IF being top 16 did put us in, we still wouldn't make it. bottom line, we'll still be a day late and a dollar short. (or, 3 pts short if you prefer - 2008 calling)

But if my memory serves me correct, one of the things they look at is rankings and if you average a ranking in the top 25 every week, you stand a better chance of getting in...

hopefully it gets taken into account that we lost to JMU in a downpour and WITH dudzik playing and Delaware lost in good conditions WITHOUT dudzik playing, i.e. putting us above delaware

UD controls their own fate. They must beat Hofstra, Navy and Nova. If they do, they're in. Over us. If not, they're out.

Zero chance they beat Navy. Zero.
