win is a win but this has to be one of the worst performances i've seen from the Offense.

i was worried about this game after the total beatdown we put on Coastal last week but the guys stepped up when it mattered most and were able to pull it out. Im sure Coach Rocco is going to have some words for the guys in the locker room about the lackluster job today

Ok then.
1) Glad we won.
2) We played HORRIBLE.
3) We did NOT deserve to win this at ALL.
4) We played HORRIBLE.
5) I'm done.

A win is a win. you expect these types of games with young players and after emotionally high games. But we got it out of our system. Now, it is time to regroup and focus on crushing Presbyterian.

Good teams find ways to win...Look at how many close games Richmond has won this year. I think we may have annointed AA the next RJ a little to soon....

"Good teams find ways to win."

I got frustrated, but coach is right. Good teams win games. This is a good team. Nothing but credit to the guys for doing what last years team COULDN'T do, which is win a close game that we struggled in for 3.5 quarters. Nothing to worry about here guys. This is just the fuel that Coach needs to get the boys ready for the rest of the year. I feel bad for Presby.

I made that exact point in the game thread dp...the good teams will FIND ways to win...remember this team lost down in Charleston 4 years ago because they didnt know how to close out a game. Now even though we played at our worst we still got it done when we needed to.

Im ticked I cant go next week, that better be a beat down. Our offense better come out and show their true colors, not the crap we saw on the field today

BJ, im not sure how you can disagree with me on this one... we BARELY beat CSU!!! They had double our offensive yards. We should've lost that game.

We have no more solid teams left in the schedule. JMU is tanking and our margin of victory will be instrumental in attempting to sway pollsters. We should've decimated CSU because they are well, terrible. Instead, we barely squeak out a W. This will not impress anyone and may take us out of the top 25. (It CERTAINLY won't put us in the top 16)

I agree that good teams find a way to win when they are playing badly, but this isn't FL/TN or FL/AR we are talking about here... this is CSU!!! one of the WORST teams in FCS. (AR and TN are at least in the SEC!!!) I mean its one thing if we were to squeak out a win against a bottom feeding CAA team...it's still the CAA. (And i think you can make the case that the CAA is to FCS what the SEC is to FBS *edited*) That would be like FL squeaking out a win against Mountain West State U. NOT helpful when you are on the outside looking in... looks bad to pollsters, looks bad to selection committee.

I am really shocked but relieved at the same time. We usually kill these guys but these games do happen from time to time and they are likely to happen on the road. CSU does suck and our rating will fall but that is the way it is. Time to put this game behind us, feel good about the W and kick the crap out of Presby.

Yuck.

The defense's "bend, don't break" thing really gets my blood pressure up. I get nervous every time they're on the field.

The offense has me totally confused.

Yeah we should have lost the game and they beat us in every statistical category, but we got the advantage where and WHEN it mattered. really the only pollsters who will take the fact that we won only by 7 into account are the AGS pollsters (and with deference to TTL who along with myself vote in that poll) and they are pretty much fanboys who dont like Liberty.

This game will only be remembered as us winning in a close game....With four games left and two games at the end of the season that will provide us with more than enough to make people focus on our record as opposed to what we didn't do to some CSU team. Last weeks game I believe way overshadows any negative views of this game that may surface at the end of the season.

We need to keep winning and let the chips fall where they may!!!

My stomach has been in knots, I don't have any nails left but I'm sure glad it's over and we get away with a "W"

I'm sure it was our wtf game, mom. Which is good, because we won it.

Coach knows how to get a team ready after a disappointment.

We'll be ready for the rest of the year.

Wow I was glued to the TV watching Nebraska give ISU early Christmas and was shocked at this score. We had a emotional game last week but we can't beat CSU by 7 and expect to gain any respect in the polls.

Interesting game. I watched CSU on tv last week and Gardner-webb was able to run at will on the Bucs, but LU could never get anything going on the ground (and most of LU's rushing yards came on Beecher scrambles). I thought Beecher played very well and very composed. He was the reason why the Flames won today.

I missed the second half because of a wedding. I looked at the score on my blackberry in the 4th quarter and almost threw up. A few thoughts:

- The posting feature in gameday threads is very annoying. [EDIT: this thread also]
- It's even more annoying when you are not able to watch the game on the Big South Network annual package that you purchased.
- We won, Presby ought to be scared. It will be ugly next week.
