Dominique Terrell got scholarship offers from UCLA, Rutgers and Pitt on the first day high school juniors could receive offers. More have come, and even more are expected.

On Tuesday, the first day college football programs could officially offer scholarships to high school juniors, Dominique Terrell received a surprise in the mail.
Three Division I schools had sent the Osbourn Park standout a written offer — something Terrell expected, given that a number of colleges had indicated they would be actively recruiting him.
The unexpected part of all this was that the offers came from UCLA, Rutgers and Pittsburgh, three programs that had not expressed heavy interest in Terrell.

The fact he has us on a list of prospective schools considering all of his offers says a great deal about the Terrell family experience with LU. That's a sign of respect to us IMHO.

With that level of interest from FBS schools, we'd better hope that big bro has put in about 5 years worth of good words. I think "legacies" are great, as long as you aren't giving out a schollie to someone just because they are someone's brother or son. That certainly wouldn't be the case here, and I think the one's we have had at LU have all been Legit (certainly glad to have those Breams on the baseball team). I'm hoping the one we have in basketball will be as good as his dad if not his brother.

This kid was the best player at Danny Rocco Football Camp as a freshman.

I really hope he comes here. But he will probably end up at one of those big schools. If things don't go well there though, we'll be here waiting!

Absolutely no chance that he would come here! Not mean't as disrespectful but "Niquey" as we call him will either be in the SEC/ACC/PAC10. Has the same skill set as Percy Harvin and is as good as advertised.

Bump so we can follow his recruitment. Yes, this is probably similar to McCray in 2010. But Liberty ties certainly make this worth following.

Four-star ATH Terrell taking recruiting slow

It's been a relatively quiet summer for four-star athlete Dominique Terrell out of Manassas (Va.) Osbourn Park. The 5-foot-11, 175-pounder hasn't taken any unofficials recently, but is starting to contemplate visits including upcoming officials.

Yeah, he's been offered by a who's who of nearly every major school except the Longhorns who rarely offer non-Texans.

Please, its not like Texas is in the ACC where they'd never see a Top 25. Their division regularly has more Top 10s than the ACC & Big East combined.

2010 UNC plays LSU first game
2011 UNC plays Tennessee
2012 rumor is that UNC plays Ohio St.
pretty good OOC schedule for one ACC team.
Texas will stick with Rice

Not with new Big XII arrangement where out of conference becomes even more important. Although playing a home game in Houston for the alumni is a tradition that is tough to break. In case you haven't noticed, the Horns have played home-and-homes with Ohio State in recent years and they working on bringing back their series with Notre Dame.

Sly....I know UNC is no powerhouse in football...
but UNC was playing home and home with Notre Dame for a few years. During the Weis era. just come to terms with it. i get the Houston gme. But why not another powerhouse? I just think its funny Ohio St and Texas had their home and home series, then both decided to play cupcake schedules after it ended.

They were simply doing what they had to do to remain in the hunt for one of the 2 seeds in the BCS championship game. But the rules have changed and now cupcakes likely won;'t get it done for the Horns moving forward.

Dominique Terrell, one of the nation's top high school football recruits for the class of 2011, has transferred from Osbourn Park High School to Osbourn High School. Terrell registered at the Manassas school Friday after Terrell's family moved into the school district.
The Eagles begin practice Monday and Terrell is expected to be there.
"He's the quickest athlete we had to defend against last year," Osbourn head football coach Steve Schultze said. "As a coach, you get a player like that, in my mind he's a game breaker. We're fortunate the family moved to Manassas."

Oh, come on Sly. The ACC has five Top 25 teams in the preseason -- Tech, Miami, UNC, FSU and Georgia Tech.
Tech plays Boise State out of conference, a Top 5 team, a year after opening against Alabama, which was a national title favorite.
When Tech plays Miami in November, there's a good chance both will be in the Top 10.
There are two teams in the Big 12 South that are "regularly" in the Top 10 -- Texas and OU.
Let's not stretch the facts too much to make a point. Texas is good. The ACC isn't the MAC, though.

Wow, I have to readjust my bearing to that old discussion.
Let's just see if your Hokies can hang with a WAC school next week before we get all twisted. The ACC is due for a bounce back to relevance ... perhaps overdue.
