Maybe you could ask one of our recruits: Jeremy Johnson, Dual-threat quarterback out of Silsbee, TX. UT was recruiting him as a wide receiver-safety (sounds similar to the Pat White story). Looks like he will be coming in next year and competing with Barry Brunetti out of Memphis for the #2 job since it appears that Geno Smith will likely be the odds on favorite for a starter in 2010.

Fox, I certainly believe it. The experience that taught me that the world was small was when I was assigned to a NATO unit in Germany. Our sponsors were showing us around and took us on a 2 hour trip to meet some folks stationed in Stuttgart. They told us they were going to introduce us to some friends and jokingly said the wife was from WV and said we surely must know her. We didn't recognize the (married) name but went along. Strangely enough when we met these friends the wife and my wife actually went to High School together. What a shocker!

Also, it's unbelievable that during all our military travels it never seems to amaze me that where ever we seem to be that a "LET'S GO....." chant always seems to be followed by a "MOUNTAINEERS!" from someone. I've experienced it in Europe, Southwest Asia, the Far East, and Central and South America. It is surprising that a little state of only 1.8 million that there always seems to be a Mountaineer where ever one may roam. It's also amazing the number of places that we hear the musical notes of Country Roads sung with the accent of the local country -- Germany during OctoberFest, Belguim in local bars, and the Philippines in just about any local watering hole.

One rarely realizes the impact a small group has on others throughout the world.

Considering the mission of our school, we are on the same page.

Wish I could make the trek up from Texas myself for the game. But alas it was not a viable option.
