Does anyone know what they make the kids do at the tryouts?

Probably be "punching bags" for the first team offense and defense. Seriously, probably no diferent for the walk-ons than the ones getting paid to go there.

Walk-on tryouts are not with the current players. They mainly run the 40, go through drills, and that sort of things. The coaches know exactly what they're looking for and a kid either has it or he doesn't. They don't wear pads, just shorts and jerseys.

If he were going out for the track team, probably not. However, I can think of about eighty other drills that are more relevant to football than simply running fast in a straight line.

Walk-on tryouts typically last about an hour and are a mix of individual work, group work, position specific work, etc. There is no 40, they do not go to the weight room, they do not work out with our current athletes during the tryout. We will have anywhere between 75-100 attendees, and we are looking for good fundumental football players who are coachable. Ideal candidate example = Jonathan Crawford!
