CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Once again, Liberty’s football program will benefit from an influx of Division I transfers.
Former Massachusetts and Heritage High running back Korrey Davis already announced his intentions to transfer to Liberty in June. Davis will be ineligible to compete this fall because he‘s transferring from a Football Championship Subdivision school. At Friday’s Big South media day, LU coach Danny Rocco confirmed that three more transfers, all from Football Bowl Subdivision schools, will be on Liberty’s roster when it opens practice next Thursday.

So now the name of the "other German" is public. Anxious to see what some of these raw talents that have started showing up on our door step can provide.

Technically, he's the "other other other German". Matthias Wrede (Muh-TEE-us VRAY-duh) has been on the roster for over a year now and then there's another who is on campus but not on the roster yet. And
then there's Paco Varol.

I thought Rocco was Italian.

Italians are flopping smelly Vespa-riders. Rocco is Pittsburgh-ese.
Speaking of Varol, he's a really unique situation. He's coming in as a 20-year old true freshman who's half Turkish, half Spanish, grew up in Germany but spent a year as a foreign exchange student playing high school football in Honey Grove, TX.
He's got a few highlight videos out there on the web but the one below is my favorite. 1:32, 9:00 and 11:00 are must see clips.

How on earth did he wind up in that dinky little East Texas town? Incidentally that is not far from Rell Porter's alma mater.
