He's one of the draft's better short yardage runners and could develop into a starter.

Yeah, pretty much everyone has him 7 or 8th best RB, 2nd-4th rounds. Seems about right.

The thing is that with all the talk of his physical abilities, I have enjoyed having Rashad as a friend since he came in from Pittsburgh. He's a great guy to talk to and he's a real smart one too. He is graduating with a double major in SMGT and Business so he certainly could make himself some pretty good coin even outside of the NFL.

Scouts.inc has him dropping to the fifth round.

I'll take him in the 5th round. Doesnt really matter what round he goes as he will end up contributing wherever. I just hope he goes to a team with a good but declining RB so he can be the 2nd back and be groomed for the future. (Redskins), minus ladell betts hah

Maybe.

But most sites had G-W's Bryan Johnston going fourth round last year, and he went seventh.

Several sites had LU's Redd as 6th-7th, and he didn't get drafted.

Not trying to be a jerk, but just tempering expectations a bit.

I would, for one, be stunned if he went second round.

I would be 100% shocked if he fell to the 5th. I think he'll go in the 3rd, but wouldn't be shocked to see him fall to early 4th. Anyway he'll be fine no matter when or where he goes.

Agree Rooster. The Bengals seem to like him too much to let him slip, but Scouts have the Bengals taking another RB instead of Jennings. I think late third-early fourth is probably the best bet.

I hope he at least goes 1st or 2nd, but probably 2nd-4th. With his ability, I don't see who will not want him :D

You have to step back and take a look at all of the information ... yes, he looked great at Liberty -- against Big South competition for the most part. There are some legitimate questions about Rashad's ability at the next level. Some scouts think he can't do anything but run north and south, and that he lacks elusiveness in the open field when catching passes in the flat. There have been questions about his ability to find a second gear after breaking free from initial contact.

He did exactly what he was supposed to do at this level of football. He was physically superior to 95 percent of the defenders he faced and as a result, he racked up impressive numbers. He will not be physically superior to 95 percent of NFL defenders, and those scouts are looking at how his skills will translate against an NFL defense.

If any of you have the ESPN insider, check out the Scouts Inc. scouting report. It's a bit of an eye-opener. They have good things to say about him, but he's by no means a lock to go any higher than the third or fourth round.
