Every day at practice last fall, a different Liberty defensive back wore No. 31. It was Ryan Greiser’s idea. Some days he wore 31. Others, it was Kent Hicks or Tim Torrence. The jersey swap was a show of solidarity for Donald Manns, a cornerback who was supposed to be a big part of Liberty’s nickel package.

But on Aug. 7, Manns came down awkwardly during a practice drill and looked down to see his left leg twisted in an unnatural position. Then the pain hit, and Manns knew his season was done. Dislocated ankle and fractured fibula. Screws and pins. Long rehab. A season on the shelf. It’s enough to suck the soul out of a football player.

Very good read. He should really help the transition in the secondary this fall. I don't think we'll miss much of a beat back there.
