Dosen't spring practice start tomorrow? I will be up watching spring in two weeks, so I can finally get some football back in my life. Will anyone be posting updates on how practice is going? The countdown to Morgantown is about to begin......

I am anxious to read the updates as well. Doesn't it feel odd being on the outside, Zeus69?

Yeah it really does feel weird some days. I am coaching back home in Jacksonville and I also teach a class. I miss Liberty and playing fooball more than I ever thought I would. I am looking forward to seeing how the guys do this spring. I hear the terminology is changing a little bit on the oline, so I am interested to see how that works out and I am also looking forward to sitting in meetings without the coach yelling at me

They're supposed to go Thursday night, depending on the status of the turf.

I thought in another thread it was said that Mario was no longer at LU......did I misunderstand? Lang's article mentioned him at center. Just wondered.

He's still with the team. He was going to graduate and move on but decided against it.

Five things worth watching (from Chris):
For the first time in Danny Rocco’s tenure as Liberty’s football coach, uncertainty is the main theme as the team opens spring practice.

The Flames will have open competitions at quarterback, tailback and receiver as Liberty tries to find replacements for the main components of one of the FCS’ top offenses the past two years.

Brock Smith was a three-year starter at quarterback and a two-year offensive captain. Rashad Jennings set numerous Big South and Liberty records and has a chance to be a first-day NFL draft pick next month. The top receivers — Dominic Bolden and Jonathan Crawford — are gone as well.

On defense, Liberty will look for options to emerge in the secondary. Kent Hicks, Ryan Greiser and Pat Calvary — all at least two-year starters — have moved on, leaving plenty of competition at cornerback and safety.

Add in the fact that the Flames have several new faces on the coaching staff and a new offensive coordinator in Brandon Streeter, and this is arguably the most important spring session for the Flames since Rocco arrived.

Practice begins this evening on the newly installed FieldTurf at Williams Stadium and culminates with the April 18 spring game.

Mike at QB

Mike will get all spring to prove what he can do at QB. Chris seems to think with the recent influction of WRs into our program that Mike will be given the chance to see what he can do at QB all spring. This is different from what I thought coming out of last season, but I am glad to see it.

Anyone going to practice tonight? Or maybe it's been cancelled due to the weather.

Yeah, I'm not thinking we're going to have practice tonight... so I'm staying in and not wasting my time.

Not when the turf on your field isn't playable and you don't have lights for your other field.

Practice was moved up an hour to 3:15 today. They'll be going on the grass field instead of the turf.

Can the tower cam be moved to get a view of the practice field? That would be great.
