Another Gamecock becomes a Flame

According to Libertyflames.com, we just picked up a 6'3" wide receiver from So. Carolina. The height should be helpful. Still think we need one more stud OL, DL, and LB, but then again, I am not that close to what we have coming in and who red-shirted.

Can't wait for Sept.

Did anyone else notice he didn't catch his first career touchdown till this year? That's kinda odd.

Probably why he transferred... if you don't play somewhere you usually look to go elsewhere.

Late last fall, Steve Spurrier put all of his rising senior non-starters on notice that they should look to transfer. Brown was one of those guys.

BAHAHAHAHAHA

So how many former gamecocks do we have?

We have had three total I do believe. Stephen Sene, Beecher and the new wide receiver.

If the latter two deliver anywhere close to the level of Sene it would be awesome.

We had Sene for 3 years though. These 2 will be one and done.

Another Gamecock

I think we (Liberty) had better watch out how many players we pick up from that grease fire of a football program in Columbia. You are right the OBS told all of the non-contributing rising seniors that there wasn't a place for them on the team anymore. I think if we (Liberty) are going to be taking transfers from FBS schools it may be wise to look to UVA or VaTech. There simply is too much of a losers mentality and SCU.

We'd never get a transfer if we had this mindset." Yea i mean we'd love to have you here but even though you have SEC talent, your program was terrible in comparison to UF. we only take winning transfers. thanks anyway"

Don't wanna be rude, but I don't think we'll be taking advice from someone who is a bigger Clemson fan than Liberty fan.

Misunderstanding

Let me be clear. I am a huge Clemson fan and with that comes a profound hatred of the Gamecocks. My previous post was not a knock on Liberty. It was a knock on the Gamecocks. I understand that as a growing FCS program we have to take JUCO's and FBS transfers, but it is important to ensure these transfers will be able to positively contribute to the football culture here. Coming from a program (SCU) that has huge academic, off the field, and coaching problems (i.e. the mass exodus of almost every coach on their staff over the off-season) I fear that these players could have a negative impact. Like I said I would rather see us go to a school such as VTech, UVA or even Hargrave, FUMA to get players.

One thing I have enjoyed about our (LU) football program over the past couple of years is the positive momentum both on the field and off the field. Coach Rocco and AD Barber seem to really have things heading in the right direction.

I am not sure what the University of Florida has to do with the conversation. If you could enlighten me I would appreciate it.

I highly doubt that Mr. Rocco would even consider any athlete if he thought they were going to have a negative impact. He doesn't want just talent, but also character. That is the impression that I get from the short times I've been around him.

Spoken like a true Clemson fan!! You really think that Tommy Beacher coming here for a year is bad thing? Rocco isn't taking on bad players here. He isn't in a situation were he has to take those chances. I think they are 2 good pickups who help us alot more than hurt us.

yeah, a Clemson fan is not exactly an unbiased source of information when it comes to opinions on the culture of SC. Heck, you even said you hate them in your post.

It isn't a bad thing if you like interceptions and limiting real game experience for the guys you have recruited to help build your program. I wonder if Beecher is really good enough to start at Liberty. Spurrier is down to one barely legit QB (Stephen Garcia) next year who hasn't exactly been a stable force in that program and he lets Beecher go. These guys had limited production at a school that isn't exactly talent rich. I trust Rocco is evaluating players on an individual basis to ensure they buy in to his philosophy and can fit in with the rest of the team.

If you mean a true Clemson fan is someone who wants to develop talent from the Fresh level up and not rely on bringing in transfers from dumpster fire programs than I own it.

The results speak for themselves. That place is a legacy killer. First Holtz now Spurrier.

seriously, your gonna bring the clemson bs to a LU forum? Your program isnt exactly a beacon of winning as of late either my friend. Spurrier dumped the whiney mofo's from USC who sucked or wouldn't play. Please get back to us when the ACC can actually stand toe to toe with a SEC school ( disregarding the usc/clem rivalry)

LU is happy to have any FBS player just about, if you have what it takes to play in the best conference in the world then you can probably play in the BSC.
