It's not football related, but I wanted to say congratulations to Brock Smith and Mike Godsil. Mike got married last night and Brock is getting married tonight. Not only were these guys great for us on the field but they've got their lives going in a positive direction too.

Good try, but you can't get married to someone and then them marry you on separate nights.
A for effort, F for execution.

That's exactly why I put the days they got married. I knew someone would try to be cool and make the "to each other" joke.

I tried. Thanks for the recognition. What if I said, "I thought our state wouldn't allow guys like that to get married?" Would that have worked?

No.
Darn. Oh well, I'll stick to the day job (but I'm not very good at that one, either).

Great couple of guys they are...I had a class with Mike. He could easily become a very good high school coach with the amount of knowledge he has. With all the back and forth that has been said about Brock on the field, he is probably one of the coolest cats to talk to off the field. Best of luck to both of them in this new stage.

Have you ever thought about asking him to be your assistant?

Mike got married last week. Coach Gillespie said Ed Gomes officiated the ceremony and broke the ice because it was so quiet and serious. Bill also said he got a kick out of all the guys that were in the wedding (most if not all of the OFF line). Mosier took his shirt off when introduced and was moving his belly up and down. Can't remember what song it was too. What I would give to have seen that!!!

It is a special calling to be a football coach's wife. If you have a good one, consider yourself especially blessed.
