no kidding. im glad the turf is getting replaced. edwards said the glare from the lights on tv games was acknowledged as a problem by the turf manufacturer.

The company is replacing it for free. They plan to start next week. It will take about a month to complete the rip out and new install. The biggest difference other than the shine being gone is the new end zones will be red.

There weren't many choices out there. Rocco didn't want five home games and six away. There was some discussion with both Cal Poly and McNeese State, but both would have been away. Savannah State was an option at home, but the two sides couldn't make it work.

You shouldn't have told me about the McNeese discussions.

Last I heard, Cal Poly didn't wanna return the trip.

I'll bet not. That's an expensive hit on the travel budget.

New turf! Awesome. It won't look like we're playing in a swamp on TV. I'll have to wait to see how the red looks before commenting. Large doses of red normally looks orange.

So with only 1 sub FCS team, will this hopefully look better?

That's what it's supposed to look like.

I love the idea and the way the new field will look...just like I love the new bball court. However, it will be interesting to see when we all were red to the game and the homecomming when the team is in red unis.

Not a big fan of having West Virginia Wesleyan on the schedule for 09 but I understand where Coach Rocco is coming from. Course this means that we once again have zero margin for error. We may need at least 10 wins to be in the playoff discussion this year.

I don't think we're going to be worried about getting snubbed for the playoffs next year.

Congrats on getting new "free" turf..............I, too, thought the field looked rained-on during telecasts.

I'll be so glad when we ge to the point when my son won't have to respond with "who's that" when I tell him who we're playing.

We're not playing them by choice. But still ...

We have to figure out this scheduling thing. Although the Iona thing couldn't be avoided. But WVW????
I'm syched about the new turf. I hope it is lighter green too.

You wanna figure it out? Get us in a real conference that has more than five conference games. When you're scheduling six non-conference games a year you're bound to get a crappy team on there.

SJ, I'm not banging on anyone, just voicing some mild frustration. Coach does a good job with what he has to work with. I have wished forever that we could get into a real conference. I agree.

We've been snake bitten on the scheduling for a while. Seems like the staff has done everything in their power to upgrade the schedule. Hoping for the best but next year might be a rebuilding year anyway.
