and two make second. Rashad, Dominic, and Britt are on the first team, and Brock and Hursky are on the second team. In all my time of reading this paper i cannot remember seeing so many flames on the squad. congrats! you will have to zoom in to see the list. i could not get it to work any other way. the second link is to the main sports page and you can follow it from there.

It's impressive that the Roanoke times ever puts anything in there about Liberty. They omit our entire football season while covering scrubs like vmi and ferrum that stink and have small fanbases. I am not naive enough to believe that Lu has a huge following but you would think good Journalism would force you to cover area teams. Liberty is one hour from the Roanoke times and they act like we dont exist. Rashad got no love from that paper all year until he is named an all american and he gets 4 inches in the bottom corner of the inside page. I refuse to buy that paper and I am amazed that they recognized anyone from Liberty since a 10-2 season was barely worth of being mentioned. It will be interesting to see if they ignore basketball too with Curry.

though i agree jinxy, the times would say lynchburg is not in their normal delivery area while lexington is. sure you can get the roanoke times in lynchburg, but not on local residental delivery routes. LU has never been covered with a beat writer, and they rely on the wire services for LU news. the roanoke err. hokie times is a heavy fishwrap for virginia tech.

I agree and understand that point. My only argument is that the school is one hour away and has all kinds of significant sporting events and hirings recently that they could cover. I think there are more people in the valley that would be interested to know what is going on with Liberty than one may think. I just think it would be good reporting and it would be better reading that a lot of the stories that they run on things that really do not pertain to virginia and are not top stories. To me Rashad and Seth Curry should be hot topics for the times right now. As should be a 10-2 football team that got left out of the playoffs. It's ok, congrats to the guys anyway, they dont need the roanoke times recognition to have a shot at a career at the next level for several of these guys.
