LOL @ Sources...
And both these guys look like impact players. Garner looks like a good return specialist/wideout (although he did play DB in high school, apparently, might look at him there) and Ovens (I have to assume you mean Hunter Ovens and not Hunter Owens) seems to be a Wes Cheek kind of guy, does any and everything (He played outside linebacker, tailback, punter and kicker in high school).

I knew the possibility of Hunter but not the other player.

I was laughing because, nine times out of ten, sources here can't be revealed, at least until after something happens. When someone with barely any posts comes on and says that a VT guy is coming here, chances are they know something...
For information's sake only

Garner is Dominic, Jr. Look at his bio. He scored a touchdown every three times he touched the ball in high school.

Ah yes...the MRS degree. Could be a good place to meet a future MRS.

Medic, it is so good to have you here for more than one post per day. We need your sense of off beat humor around here!

These guys sound like they will be great additions to the team and will be capable of making an immediate impact in their respective positions. I'm assuming they will be registering for classes in January?? If so, I'm looking forward to seeing them during spring ball

Some confirmation on this...
My uncle, who lives in Roanoke, said he heard on the radio that this was going down for sure, he said "You guys are getting to VT transfers, and one is Ervin Garner... not sure on the other one..." He couldn't remember the other but I have to assume it was Ovens.

confirmed by the hokie...err roanoke times.
Liberty is the likely destination for outside linebacker Hunter Ovens and wide receiver Ervin Garner, a pair of Virginia Tech redshirt freshmen who have formalized plans to transfer. The Hokies, once fearful that they could sign no more than 10 players in the 2009 class, now could go into the 20s.
