I was kind of hoping one or 2 more CAA teams would get knocked out in the first round, but they went 4 for 5 as a conference. Those other 4 teams were actually pretty solid choices though. The CAA is a strong conference, but I think JMU being taken to the wire by Wofford shows they are not so far above the pack that they deserve to have 5 teams in the playoffs.

The first four CAA teams definitely deserved to be there and the results from yesterday showed that. Don't read too much into the JMU-Wofford game being close as a negative reflection on the Colonial though. Wofford is a very good program that runs a unique offense and I would have been extremely surprised if this wasn't a competitive game. This really had no business being a 1st-round matchup for either team.
As for that other CAA school from the state that I would now gladly trade to Canada for six buckets of maple syrup and a ham, UNI is really good but I find it hard to believe that we would have done any worse.

I believe we could have done some damage in this tournament if allowed the opportunity, and opportunity that was offered to a less qualified team. What kind of national tournament favors one particular conference to the tune of letting in a 5th team? How is that good for the sport of college football?

Preach it, madmat. I agree wholeheartedly. My level of frustration with how the NCAA operates their business has grown every year. The BCS mess is just the tip of the iceberg.

Sly...isn't the BCS in no way affiliated with the NCAA?

Affiliated? Yes. They are partners in this game of greed.

Please explain? I thought the BCS was totally separate from the NCAA.
