just looking at their record they seem to be really hit or miss. if they are on their game they are gonna be a challenge. we better be geared up for this one. i know godsil is, but i hope the rest of them are too

and check out Chris' blog entry in the N&A yesterday. Very informative on what needs to happen if the Flames are to make the postseason. (Root for App. St this weekend against Elon)

Lang's summation:
Liberty is gunning for the spot currently occupied by Elon in the projection, but just beating the Phoenix won’t be enough to snag it. The Flames still need lots of help from other schools around the country. One more note, Liberty fans should NOT root for Elon to beat App State this week. If that happens, there’s no way Elon DOESN’T make the tournament, regardless of what happens in Lynchburg Nov. 22

I guess I missed something. Was the play when Godsil got injured last year dirty/illegal?
I really want a second undefeated conference season. Being champs is great, but we all know the BSC is a weak conference right now, and we need to be DOMINANT if we want our reputation to move forward.

Coastal set to face stout aerial attack
Bulldogs putting up big numbers passing

CONWAY -- First, the bad news for the Coastal Carolina football team:
Not only will the young Chanticleers secondary face the Big South's hottest quarterback in Devin Campbell on Saturday at Gardner-Webb, but Coastal must also deal with wide receiver Dobson Collins, one of the top receiving threats in the Big South.
The Gardner-Webb air game has posted nearly 1,000 yards over the last three weeks

realizing this article was meant for CCU readers, it can apply to us as well. Campbell passed for 338 yds last weekend, one for 62 and another for 41. hopefully our defense is ready for this.

I think he makes a good point. We may not make the playoffs if we win out, but at 10-2 we would HAVE to get a serious look. They could still leave us out because of the fluke at Presby, but we still have a chance...

I personally think Presby kills us!
I hope I'm wrong!

Well no matter what we need some help from teams like Appy. We need some teams to lose so that we can get in. I have a feeling that if App beats Elon Saturday and we beat Garder-Webb, then the winner of the LU vs Elon game next week will go to the playoffs. That's just my opinion. We could still beat them and neither of us could go, but I think we have a chance at getting in.
No matter what... Sweet revenge on the terrible loss last year would be to beat Elon and keep them out of the playoffs!
Greetings from North Carolina.

My friend Sly has requested that I engage in a civil discourse with you my Big South Brethren about the upcoming game in Lynchburg. Many of you know me; I pretty much run the only Gardner-Webb internet presence on the entire interweb, Letsgobulldogs.com. It is a humble blog with a modest readership. I am thinking about throwing a small party once I have my 10th reader. I of course know many of you through countless years of lurking and occasionally contributing to this board as well as boards like anygivensaturday. After visiting your site today I am reminded why I would never want to moderate a discussion board and for that I thank you. I am still a little bitter about losing to the Teal Abomination (or the Chinnutz) yet again but I will try to come through for Sly.
Let me get to the point I have a bad feeling about this game. It reminds me of 2006 when Coastal was on the bubble of making the playoffs, and came into Boiling Springs and laid the wood to the Bulldogs in hopes of impressing the NCAA intelligentsia. Simply put, the Falwell Reform School for Wayward Transfers, has something big to play for and Gardner-Webb, not so much. Unless the Bulldogs like snatching the dreams away from a conference rival, and they should. My only cause for optimism for this game is that unlike 2006, Gardner-Webb actually plays defense, and if properly motivated could make the game interesting.
Here are some players to watch. I am very happy for Devin Campbell. He has been a solid performer and has fought hard for his starting job when probably he should not have had to. With very few exceptions Campbell has looked like he was having fun this year.Dobson Collins has always been fast, but it did not appear he had great hands. That has changed this year. On defense Jeffrey Williams is a Machine. Some of his hits this year have just been obscene.
I myself have been recovering from a bad stomach virus, but I hoping to be well enough to make it to Liberty on Saturday. Best wishes and I hope the little Facebook scam you are trying to pull off succeeds and makes you laugh. It is an old joke but one that Libertines apparently still enjoy. I find that adorable.

If someone is doing a Facebook scam it's not me and chances are, it's not nearly as good as what I've done in the past.

You guys...sometimes I wonder what goes on inside your heads when you post some of the things you do...
But after seeing this go woefully

once again I think we ought to be gracious to our guest Mr Adrian. I think itll be a pretty decent game this weekend (of course I have the Flames picking up the win) and I hope you get to feeling better in time Adrian and feel free to offer up some perspective on the basketball discussion as well.
